Me and my friends visited this place on 3rd Nov.. this s located around 7 kms away from the town and if u r looking for a peaceful stay away from City and all the busy schedule this s the perfect place.. we enjoyed a lot and Mr Babu the caretaker guided us properly and overall we had a perfect stay...also u don't need to worry about utensils u just have to carry ur raw materials only...everything is available there...only drawback we faced is that there were no fans provided although u don't need any fans during night time since it LL be very cold bt mornings r warm..
I visited this place on Oct 7, 2017. The owner is very friendly and suggested us some good places to visit in the town. There is a caretaker for the place who looks after everything you need. He also made us a good campfire for the night. We took our own groceries and cooked dinner for ourselves. There were all kinds of utensils in the kitchen. We also hiked up the hill close to the stay. The view from the peak was very beautiful.
On a whole, this place is for people who want to stay away from noisy city life.
Sometimes all you need is break in a beautiful place to clear your mind . It is a beautiful place , the sleepy town with its scenic valleys , enchanting pine forests ,mists , tea estates , waterfalls with overall greenery is really striking .it's best place to vist especially for those who want to break from your daily hectic schedule .I would recommend verdant vagamon homestay for those who want to take break . You won't get bored , as you enjoy the beauty of nature every second . I woke up in the morning , my alarm was the beautiful sound of sparrows. And we hiked to the top of the mountain to watch beautiful sun rise . The sunset was beautiful and I can't explain it with the words , it's beyond the level . The host was very friendly and babu uncle served us with authentic food . Booking was simple . Arrakal Antony the owner explained us everything politely (route). He had arranged everything for us beautifully. There is a stream near the house where you can play and have fun in The water . You can sleep with the sound of nature and in the darkness of tall trees . The house is perfectly maintained with lawn . I would definitely visit again .,I had the feeling of staying at home . I would recommend for everyone especially those who are busy with city life to connect with nature .
They are not given the room at right time , they wasted our 5 hrs .My family along 1 year boy and ladies stuck on there for long ,still they are not able to give the room .After 5 hr they said they will arrange another room .It's just .........
this stay was awesome, feel like we are close to the nature. good ambience .all facilities for a home are available there. we enjoyed a lot . we all have a great time there .
We had a wonderful stay here. We came from the UK to spend time with our daughter who is living in Kerala, to be away from the crowds and to find out more about the traditional way of life in the hills. This little house was exactly what we were looking for: a very peaceful beautiful spot with rich flora and bird life, and opportunity for contact with the very friendly local people – but it’s lucky that our daughter speaks Malayalam or this contact would have been limited.
Babu took very good care of us, coming to see us each day to check all was going well, telling us all about the plants and agriculture etc. We much appreciated these conversations and, again, it was very fortunate that we could communicate with him in Malayalam. We chose to cook for ourselves and Babu helped us by bringing supplies of vegetables and and arranging transport to Vagamon whenever we needed it.
A big thank you to Jaquiline and Antony! We had very helpful contact with them before our stay and they went to a lot of trouble to ensure our needs would be met – e.g. fitting a double gas hob so we would be able to cook even if there were power cuts (which there were occasionally).
This is not place to come to if you are looking for all the home comforts you may be used to, it is living as locals do. We hope it retains its unique character and doesn’t change too much as we hope to return one day.
