Will recommend this place. I stayed here for 1 night enroute to Sabarimalai. Its close to the new bus stand although i didn't spot the bus stand itself. I had a vehicle. It's also very close to the rlwy station (would say 500mts or so).
The hotel has a/c and non a/c rooms. They have a website (kingspalace.in). Non-Ac was Rs 750 and a/c was 1350. Add taxes to it. I took the ac room. It was a spacious double bed with a tiny TV. The a/c worked Ok. The room and toilet were clean. My room was facing the road and it can get a bit noisy on days when there is too much traffic although i didn't feel any disturbance during the night. The bed was neatly laid and the linen in my room was clean.
The hot water did not work so that was bad. Apparently one had to drain a bucket of cold water before the hot water will flow and that is atrocious in a country where water is as precious as gold. I lodged a complain with the front-desk (Mr Mohan) asking him to find alternative solution.
The hotel had a decent multi-cuisine restaurant.
overall, ok for short stay. Do visit the big Siva temple in town (Viswanathar). Of-course the coutrallam falls is hardly 5-6kms from here.
The auto folks are a rip-off. Negotiate hard. Typically one should be charged no more than Rs 10 per km one way & even that is high. But Tenkasi auto guys beat Chennai when it comes to overcharging. There is share auto although i didnt use it.
