“Very nice site, clean and tidy”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2014

Break date - 07/06/2014
Let me start by saying im not really a caravan break type of guy but it worked out nicely for us to be there so...... When in rome..
But firstly PLEASE... The numerous amout of sleeping policemen on the way in and out of the park are really not needed (2 or 3 if ya really need them but 20+).
The park itself is lovely, clean and well spaced out. We had van 223 which is a BRONZE van and is also right next door to the kids play area, which was great for my nearly 3yr old to burn off some energy. It was clean bright and a very good size, with 2 toilets and a shower room, 3 beedrooms and a huge front room, V small TV but we wernt there to watch TV really.. All the bedding was clean, bright and beds pre made which was nice to arrive to. There clearly are alot of private vans on the site of all shapes and sizes and also very clear that the vans are well looked after and maintained. We arrived mid afternoon and was quickly given the keys and directions which were clear and easy to follow, and once moved in and refreshed decided to have a wonder.
The club house is a little small and not really what we expected, it had the look of a small harvesters/wethersponns with a small stage area, nothing you wouldnt see in any town that offers live music.. Daughter loved LOOPY and mostly had him all to herself due to the low numbers on site. We finally ordered some food (not serving till 6pm) an hr or so past littlens normal tea time but we were on a break and all times went out the window.. I must say there was plenty of food but, reheated/microwave fodder was not great, and unless you wanted a deep fried meal (burger, nuggets, chips etc etc) that is what was on offer. We didnt stay for the evening entertainment as again its on to late for littlen and we did have an early start.
We didnt have chance to try the pool but it did look nice, not as big as the sites pics would lead you to belive but it didnt seem to be busy so didnt really matter.
The shop seems to be open when your out and closed when you return, slighty later opening may work better as it saves a last min dash to tescos 5 mins away over 1000000 speed humps to get the forgotten last ingredients to ya spag boll... :-( when i did catch it open it was a little expensive and more of a last min save then a shop, shop.
The views over the Solent and the walks are amazing and in good weather a great way to unwind and chill down.
We stayed here just to be close to Paultons Park (Pepper pig world) and it ticked all of these boxes well.
I would return and try to get a large Double caravan with decking etc etc and stay a bit longer so will have to see maybe later in the year.

Room Tip: We had van 223 but looking around there were some stunning vans to upgrade to

Never stayed in a holiday park before.
They sent us 'count down' emails from time to time before we went with some helpful hints, some of which I found a bit obvious but others were really good.
The staff couldn't have been more helpful from the time we booked till when we left at the end of the holiday (end of May). We had a 'gold' caravan and were able to take our (2) dogs too! We were able to book in at 2pm but they said we were welcome to use all facilities if we had arrived earlier.
The roads (once off the M27) were well signed for the site and we had no trouble finding it. The caravan was modern and, as it was for up to 8 people, it had plenty of room for us. When we arrived we collected our passes, key etc from reception and were given detailed instructions on a site map to make it easy to find the caravan - which we did.
It had all the facilities you would expect from a cottage, fridge/freezer, oven and hob, microwave oven and very efficient central heating (which we only used twice during our stay). The site is right on the coast overlooking the Solent where you can see plenty of boat 'traffic' activity if interested in boats of all types.
This does mean that its off the beaten track a bit but has ample opportunity for those keen on walking.
The only bad bits for me were the 19 "sleeping policemen" that have to be negotiated in and out of the site, however as the road is a little narrow I looked upon it as a necessary evil for road safety. Also there were some light bulbs not working which I thought should have been fixed as part of the pre-occupancy checks.
There is plenty of car parking space next to the caravans and we had no trouble parking 2 cars next to ours.
The weather can play an important part of any holiday however there are good facilities on site including evening entertainment in the clubhouse.
I certainly enjoyed my 'first time' and have already booked again for September......so watch this space for an update!

Room Tip: I like all my creature comforts and so would always go for at least a 'gold standard' carava...

Although we live only half an hour away, my partner and I decided to visit the club house for lunch as it had been previously recommended to us as a nice place to enjoy an afternoon out...
...Well,where to start!
As it was a hot day,we decided to sit out in the garden but to get there you had to walk all through the restaurant, out a side fire exit and down a hill.
The garden itself was ok and you could not fault the amazing views of the solent itself.
However this was the only "ok" part of our experience as it was overshadowed by a lot of negative factors.
First of all, watch when you pay with cash as we were short changed on our first round of drinks.
Secondly,if you choose to sit outside,be prepared to walk back up the hill to order your food.
Thirdly, when we received our food, we asked where the condiments were and the waitress told us we would have to go back inside ourselves to collect them along with our cutlery. This was not stated to us when we first ordered our meals!
We ordered a chicken salad and a 3 cheese and broccoli bake with garlic bread priced at £7.50 each.
The salad was literally half of an iceberg lettuce chopped with a few tomatoes and cucumber. No peppers or onions as stated. The tiniest jacket potato and a very tiny pot of coleslaw (think macdonalds sauce pots which you fill your sauce with-yes really, that tiny!)
The 3 cheese broccoli bake was literally swimming in a cheese sauce with hardly any broccoli. The mountains of melted cheese on top made it too sickly to finish.
Lastly, when I visited the ladies toilets, I was greeted with a "surprise" that someone had left on the rim of the seat and not in the pan. Absolutely disgusting!
Honestly with all the above I've described added together with the obnoxious attitudes of the 2 waitresses who served us, my partner and I wouldn't go back there even if someone paid us.
You have been warned!

We stayed at solent breezes 2 years ago and had such a good stay we are hoping to return again this year. We booked our hols 3 wks before we went and booked in a bronze caravan. The camp site was very clean, tidy and very well kept. There was always plenty of staff around on site and in the club house. Entering the caravan we could not believe the van was only a bronze. It was very clean, well equipped with everything we needed and really comfortable. Food at the club house was plentiful and a really good standard. My kids loved the pool and when my daughter got into difficulties the lifeguard was straight there.
Unfortunately my daughter had food poisoning on the last night of the holiday(NOT FROM THE CLUB BUT BURGER KING), and on the last morning we were allowed to stay longer in the caravan so she could recover. At no point did we feel rushed to leave!
I have stayed in many different holiday sites and this was far more superior to them all. I would even say that 'Butlins' just couldn't compare especially for the price we paid.
Here's to July!

Arrived Bank holiday Monday for a four night stay in a Gold plus caravan. The site looked fine pretty much as i expected ( first time in a caravan since childhood). What a shock when we arrived in the club house to pick up the keys, it looked very tatty however the member of the staff was very helpful and pointed out various bits of information so we kept positive. Arrived at the caravan, to find litter underneath the van and a very well used old fashioned dirty caravan. i looked around at the other vans and they all seemed to be a similar standard. Our friends stayed in a caravan two doors down also a gold plus and their van from the outside looked even worse, a bin bag had emptied underneath and rotten food egg shells etc had been left under their caravan.
I cleaned our caravan(, coffee cup stains, bits of food dirty, stained paint work )the only joy being the bedding seemed very clean and spoke to reception the next morning as I was really concerned about the van our friends had been due to stay in the next day. The staff reacted well came down and had a look seemed shocked at the standard, again smelt stale, coffee marks, food crumbs coffe stains on the kitchen cabinets, gruby marks on the furniture still rotten food under the caravan .The lady offered to clean the van herself and the rotten food underneath was removed although two egg shells reamined under the van until we removed them !. We were offered compensation(£50 vouchers to spend in the clubhouse) however we did not use them our faith in any sort of standards being used in this site had vanished. Overall we felt very disappointed, we got a great deal to stay for four nights and had been excited to have the experience of a caravanning holiday with the children, however we couldnt wait to leave and the hundreds of ants that we emptied out of our bags on the last evening looked like they wanted to escape as well !

I am sorry that your stay with us was not as enjoyable as it should have been, and our cleaning was overlooked including outside the caravan. I was pleased to read staff reacted well as we pride ourselves with guest care.

Apologies again.

We were here with a large group of friends over the bank holiday weekend. The site is well located - but be careful of the numerous, and unnecessary, speed bumps along the road. The caravans are ok (we probably had a bronze one), with a good shower, but a grill/ toaster that took an age to warm up! The clubhouse was probably typical of holiday camps - if you need children's entertainment or like bingo you will be ok. Food was not great and they cannot cope with lots of people coming together, but again probably typical of a holiday camp. The on-site shop is only open 9 - 5 so we were never there to buy anything from it - luckily there is a Waitrose (heaven with a free coffee) and Tesco Express nearby. If we can get it again for less than £100 per couple our party will definitely be back. The residents were very friendly though!
