We stayed here one night and actually slept in the igloo type accomodation, surprising slept well. Elise our tour guide and host was so friendly and welcoming. Food, staff and activities were fabulous. The dog sledding was beautiful.

We stayed in the snow hotel itself. Be warned it is cold. The guest facilities are impeccable. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner. We spent an amazing couple of hours playing with the sled team dogs which was truly brilliant. If you like dogs you’ll love this. The Snowhotel staff made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended.

Let’s be clear; this cost a lot - around $600.00 for a couple of hours. BUT....if one travels from the U.S. and hasn’t seen the Northern Lights, and if one needs to make the trip to Norway worth it, this is the thing to do. This is a once in a lifetime epic experience.

FANTASTIC, WONDERFUL, AMAZING SOOOOOO GOOD!!
The whole experience is out of this world.
The scenery alone is perfection.
The snow hotel is amazing with such exquisite ice carvings and snow moulding.
The excursions...especially the King Crabs, where Michael and Evie did such a superb job were fantastic.
There is also dog sledding, northern lights, walking and playing with the adorable huskies...snow shoeing and cross country skiing...exploring...and so much more...all such a fantastic experiences.
All of the staff are friendly and helpful and go out of their way to make you welcome.
The chef/s are wonderful..the meals delicious.
The little cabins, like igloo pods are beautiful, and warm and cosy, even when it is well under minus temperatures.
I can’t enthuse enough over what a wonderful holiday experience this is.

Room tip: Every room is exceptional. Do try the snow hotel icy beds for a night..such fun.

We stayed in Snow Hotel Kirkenes for 1 night ( 2 kids 2 adults) and we stayed in 2 Gamme Cabins. The Gamme Cabins are very cozy and comfortable, and beautifully layout. Even the bath room is beautifully designed! The cabin is very restful and provide a great view to the snow and ground outside.
All the staffs we met there, from front desk, to our guide, restaurant staffs etc are very friendly and helpful. There are lots of activities you can do within the property, eg morning walk with puppies, visit the huskies, fed the reindeer , snow mobiling etc so many things to do throughout the day , we wish we stayed for more than 1 day . Perfect family holiday with kids of all ages.
We were glad we stayed in the warm Gamme cabins because the snow rooms, while looked really spectacular, will probably be too cold for our kids . Hotel guests can go to see/ visit the snow rooms and we went in the snow rooms and only managed to hang around for 15 mins as we felt really cold. So we certainly prefer the warmth of the Gamme Cabins.

Even though each cabin has big glass windows, I am not sure if it is the best place to see the Northern light inside the cabin because the whole property has lots of lights ( outside and around each cabin) . But if you don’t mind to stand and wait outside the cabin in the cold, there are still some large open area inside the property which may offer good view should the Northern light appear.
