We stayed during a weekend in the autumn and had a wonderful time in Söderköping. The town is picturesque and cozy and the weather was excellent. The sun shone and we took a bath in the ocean.

The hotel stay was overall good but the hotel lacks some things to give it a better rate. The reception was good and we felt welcome. The room was ok, we had no real functioning wi-fi which is a drawback 2013. The room was a bit warm as well. The bathroom had no area to put toilet articles on which is pretty lame.

The dinner which we took in the house was welcoming and friendly but the food could have been a notch better. It was good but not splendid. Breakfast ok but the real treat was afternoon tea which is really a complete meal. No gym and the spa quite small.

Surrounding area marvellous and I would not hesitate to go back.

Stayed here for my husbands cousins wedding for 3 nights in July. Only have good things to say. Hotel is in beautiful location, right beside a canal, lovely 5 minute stroll along the canal into the town centre. Quaint, romantic feel about the hotel- perfect for a wedding. Stayed in room 272, very nice- light and airy. Underfloor heating in the bathroom! Comfy beds, quiet. Breakfast in the mornings was very good- just that they finished at 10am and they mean 10am on the dot! Self service buffet, good selection of continental foods. Only downside was the service, at the bar especially. We could wait up to 10 minutes at the empty bar for a staff to serve you & many would walk past and not notice us. Also, the bar closed at 8pm on the Sunday night of our stay- ridiculous!!! Even at the reception, there was never a rush on anyone to help you. There is an outdoor pool across the road from the hotel for hotel guests which we didn't use but looked lovely. Didn't use any of the jacuzzis or the gym- that was just a cross trainer, bike & treadmill with a mat & ball- better than nothing! Overall I would recommend this hotel, really enjoyed our stay here and would return in the future!

We stayed here with family for one night and had a package with dinner, bed, breakfast and a round of golf at a nearby golf course (Söderköping GK).
The hotel is located in a lovely little town on the Göta Kanal, so a great area to stroll around and soak up atmosphere.
We were, however, rather disappointed with the quality of the hotel, based on reception, hotel faclities and rooms. It is clearly geared towards conference groups, and is large and out-dated in its decor and feel. They hand out cut-out tickets for meals on check in, which while practical, felt like recieving drink tickets at a cheap work function. The rooms are also quite old and while they have everything one would need, they lack charm. We had a room backing onto a concrete street- not a very inspiring view. The rooms and hotel facilities generally are certainly not worth the price.
With this start, the only thing which could save this hotel for us was dinner. The restaurant is also a large and outdated room, so expectations were not high. However the quality of the food, wines and service in the restaurant certainly impressed. - this was very high quality and made up for lackings in other areas.
Breakfast was also a big and uncharming buffé, but the food was still excellent and had a very wide selection.
Would I recommend it? Probably not for a romantic getaway, but as a base for a night in order to explore the area- maybe.

We had a weekend stay at this hotel, got a nice big room when we checked in, very roomy with a nice bathroom. But we had some problems with the bathroom, the toilet was leaking and water was coming up from the sink. The towel warmer was so hot I got a burn in the palm of my hand. The next day we got another room, we were not so happy about it, smaller and location not so good. So we decided to leave and drive back home. Breakfast average. Location was great ,close to the canal and restaurants, but still very quiet.

Single rooms in main building reminds of standard in the 70's
Uncomfortable beds and old dark colours.
Slow service at the hotelbar.
Modern standard hotels do have a better spa and relax... And a gym!!!
