I travelled in September with My husband and 2 yr old. The rooms are very nice and spacious and the wall glass to the bathroom gives a very modern and fresh feel. The hotel staff are very polite and welcoming and nothing is too much of a problem. The food was excellent. We were on half board and you can either have lunch or evening meal and it was nice to have the choice. The children's play area was very nice and my son enjoyed playing there and making friends. Plenty of pools that catered for all including an adults only and plenty of child friendly pools. Evenings were low key and for a hotel of it's size they perhaps could have done more on the entertainment side of things (this was the only downside to be fair)

Just got back a few days ago. We have been to Vilamoura before so knew the area quite well. We knew Hilton is not very central but as we take a car, it doesnt bother us. In fact, it's a plus. Didnt know it was a very new hotel, i think it looks a bit dated, but it is sooo clean and fresh and interior decor very pleasant. The maids are thourough, and corridors smelled like bleach once a day, which for me, a cleanfreak, was fab.
i used the gym every morning, gym's great. The breakfast too, as a healthfreak, was very good, with lots of fresh fruit etc. as well as the usual cooked breakfast. Overall it was lovely, with sunny seating outside.
Pool area is perfectly functional, if a bit crouded. We went outside of school holidays, so expected some peace and quiet, and was very surprised at what another traveller described as the buggy brigade. There were babys and buggys everywhere. Screaming babys all around, and this would be for me the only real con at this hotel. They do have a private beach area with free towels and chairs so we went there every day, it was FAB!
Seven Spa is stunning, wonderful design, so relaxing and just a slice of paradise.
Vilamoura marina food however is overpriced and at best average, but my recomendation to anyone visiting the Algarve is Teodosio o rey dos frangos in Guia!! Its a must, and the best peri chicken in Portugal!! And a bit closer by is Marufo just outside of Quarteira on the way to Almancil. Chicken heaven!! Place looks like crap but is packed out every night.

We have been here before. This year we stayed in one of the HGVC units (2BR).

The apartment:
Our 2 bedroom apartment (0080) was located in the corner on the ground floor facing the pool. The balcony was perfect for breakfast or afternoon drink. For some reason there were only 2 chairs on the balcony.

The units are classy and modern with DVDplayer (unfortunately no DVDs to rent though), 3 flat screen TVs (in living room and bedrooms), stereo, fully equipped kitchen. Bring ground coffee + filters, dishwasher tablets and washing powder, so you don’t have to spend expensive money in their shop.

Onsite and eating:
Onsite are four restaurants and a minimarket. The breakfast buffet is great - lots of variety and freshly made egg dishes while waiting. Freshly squeezed orange juice! If you want to prepare your own breakfast – you need a car to go to the supermarket Alisuper near the marina. There is also a pool table and internet accessed computers to use (not for free!).

Pool area:
There are 5-6 pools and a large SPA. The hotel has one big problem – that is the pool area. The pool is seldom crowded, but most chairs are occupied by towels (with our without people) the entire day. Already at breakfast when the pools open (at 09) people start to occupying the chairs around the pool with towels and then leaving for hours before they turn back. Any time during the day this is a fact – an annoying fact. Late afternoons (around 3 or 4) you get a chance to get a spot pretty easy though.

Free transport to beach and marina:
Hilton has a free transfer minivan to the beach during daytime day and evening hours to the marina. Praia Falesia (Falesia beach), is free for Hilton-guests (get your towel by the hotel). When in the marina area, try to find less expensive restaurants off the actual marina.

Neighborhood:
Just walking distance away from the hotel area you have the old village of Vilamoura. Beautiful houses with blossoming gardens everywhere! A few nice restaurants and bars as well.

We have just returned from a 10 day holiday at the Hilton. We loved the hotel very clean and the king delux room was fabulous. Disappointed that for a five star hotel there was no A La carte restaurant open every night but a Buffett that was full of noisy young children. As a couple going on holiday after the school holidays we were horrified to see so many buggies and young children who were allowed to run riot in the bar it felt like butlins some nights.

We would not recommend this hotel for a relaxing break go to an adults only or risk the buggy brigade and screaming children.

We stayed at the Hilton for three nights as part of our honeymoon around Portugal. Man! This place was awesome upon arriving at the hotel. Here are the pros and cons:

Pros:
- Extremely clean and new (built in 2007) and very modern
- Excellent staff and service - they really go out of their way to make you feel special
- Rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable - we were in the 1bdr suite, and the room had separate showers and tub. A washer/dryer, full kitchen, fridge, cooking utensils, etc. was also part of the room (had a balcony with tables and chairs too).
- Restaurant and bar - the buffet is amazing - they change it up every night. We were there two of the three nights and was very impressed both times! Breakfast (free) is served in there too - simply amazing with tons of food and choices. Stuff is even labeled with nutritional guides. As for the bar, very nice ambiance; the pool side bar also offers food and drinks - very very tasty mixed drinks and cocktails. Try the mojito for example - one of the best I've had.
- Spa - a must do - very reasonably priced, good facility, connected to the hotel, and good value for the various services. Our 1 hr treatment for massage, facial, and swedish shower only costed 75 euros. Otherwise, you'll have to pay 35 euros to only use the facility - better off getting something done there first.
- pool - I think there are five different pools - ranging from the kiddy pools to the large general pool to an adult only pool. indoors and out, lots of choices. Go to them all!
- Parking - indoor underground parking is free! Tons of space and easy to use
- Other hotel amenities - hotel also has a snooker table and a gift shop
- Private beach - Hilton has their own beach, what's there to complain about? :)
- Fitness center - descent size with everything you need

Cons:
- location: slightly off away from the action, but I actually like it. It's about a 15-20 min walk to the marina area or you can always take the shuttle. I recommend renting a car since that's the best way to see the Algarve
- pool: can get pretty crowded on Saturday. We didn't see that many kids except for Saturday afternoon, but that's expected even in early September. It didn't bother me though.
- Hours: pool hours are relatively short (9 am to 8 pm)? Something like that. Hotel gift shop closes at 6 or 7 pm too - very early.
- Shuttle: we had a car, but we did see a lot of people waiting in line - but then again, better than not having a shuttle

Other than that, this is an amazing hotel. I highly recommend you staying here during your trip to the Algarve or Vilamoura.

Stayed here during the 1st week of September and had a great stay here.
The room we stayed in was a decent size and clean, pools are great and only 1 day struggled to find a lounger by the pool.
Shuttle service is good and is needed due to the location. Costs about 5 euros to get back from the marina at night.
As mentioned by somebody else the only was to get to the pools seems to be through 1 of the restaurants which is a bit strange(if you are staying the reception side of the building).
Received a birthday cake and champagne on the 1st day at the hotel even though birthday was a week before, this was really nice and unexpected.
Breakfast at the hotel was good with plenty of choice and lunch at the hotel was decent although slightly expensive. Most of the staff were very polite and friendly.
The were lots of children at the hotel but this was'nt a problem for us - we don't mind a bit of noise by the pool.
Would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Vilamoura.

Just returned after 6 fantastic days at the Hilton with my boyfriend! Unlike what a previous reviewer stated I found the hotel and rooms spotlessly clean! We had absolutely no problem strolling out for a sun lounger after 9 and many around the pool were still free at 10, I do appreciate however that kids were back to school so it probably wasn't as busy as in August.

The staff were excellent however we arrived at 10am and had to wait until 3 for our room so we got a few things from our case and headed to the pool.

The shuttle service to the beach and marina was very good, there was usually quite a queue before 7 heading to the marina but they run 2 buses at this time which usually accommodates everyone waiting.

We walked to and from the marina a couple of times, there is a lovely park which runs down the middle of the road so there is no need to walk on the main road and we found the walk very enjoyable! The concierge is very helpful and provided a map of the area.

The breakfast buffet is fantastic everything you could want! We had lunch here most days which was also very good.

I would certainly return to this hotel however keep to the more off peak would time of year such as September to avoid the issues other reviewers experienced.
