I have just come back from a week in Vilamoura and stayed here and can't fault it, we booked a junior suite so had a little kitchen with fridge and oven as well as a sitting area, originally we were given a room on the first floor right above the reception door top so we had a very limited view, my boyfriend went down to ask if there was any way that we could be moved to a room with a better view, we were told not to unpack and that if we came back down in the morning there would hopefully be a room on a higher floor, we went down and they moved us to the 6th floor, with the most fantastic view, they were really helpful the whole week through and nothing was too much trouble. The room was spotless and had a very big balcony which caught the afternoon sun. The food was lovely with a different buffet selection each night and morning, the waiters were also very friendly. We didn't use the swimming pool but it never looked too busy out there with a lot of people sunbathing at the back, I think to shelter from the wind. We went to Aqua land whilst there which was ok, I think we got tickets from the dearest place though so if you're going to book some, look around before buying as you'll get a better deal that way. On our last day we went on a buggy Safari which is definitely worth doing, it was 60euros per buggy but if the 2 of you share, you both have a go as they stop half way at a really pretty lake. We had a good 3 hours out and went along the roads and dusty tracks, at the end we even went down some really steep slopes, it was brilliant and the women running it are so friendly!! The only thing I would advise is when going to jafers, the little supermarket by the Dom Pedro Marina Hotel, check your change, my boyfriend didn't realise he'd been shortchanged by a euro until he got back to our hotel, the following night we went to get some stuff from there and the same lady was there again, I checked my change and again we'd been given a euro less, my boyfriend went into complain and the woman didn't even have to check our receipt and gave us the euro instantly so she's probably keeping a euro of all the tourists change so just make sure you check it. All in all though brilliant hotel in a fantastic location, although the music opposite goes on very late, it was playing at 4.30 most nights, could be later and it is very loud. I think the hotel has entertainment every night from about 10.30, we only experienced 2 nights and from what we saw, I feel the entertainment might be aimed at older customers. We would definitely stay here again.
