Stayed for 6 nights, should have been 5, but had our flight cancelled due to EMA being shut down for 24hrs.
Amazing apartments set in beautiful grounds with lovely staff, plenty of places to eat and drink and a small supermarket onsite.
The staff were brilliant when we had our flight cancelled and needed accomadation for a extra night, we kept the same room and allowed us to use their office and internet to book further flights for the following day. The whole of the village is clean and set in beautiful colourful gardens.
Vilamoura is approx 15mins walk and 4 euros by taxi, lovely clean beaches.
We will be returning to the Old Village Apartments again hopefully in September

Stayed here for five nights. Vilamoura was lovely. Great resturants and bars and not too young which suited us. Having been to Albufiera before, Vilamoura is much more up market. The old village is approx 15 walk to the marina. €4.00 at night in a taxi. We had a two bed duplex. Bedrooms are downstairs, with lounge and kitchen upstairs, sun balcony on the next floor. Very well equipt, everything you need and sky tv.The resturants around the complex are lovely. Bedrooms a little small. Cleaning was supposed to be done daily however ours was not done at all while we were there. Would go back though.

I stayed here with 2 friends it was great value and the apartment was beautiful we were in 6BC ...The restaurant Princess Gardens was gorgeous but plenty to chose from on site ... the walk to the marina was only about 10mins the reception gave us great directions.... seems the marina is the place where it all happens plenty of fantastic restaurant's and bars ....

Just returned from 6 nights at The Old Village Apartments, I was a little concerned when I booked but only due to the low price, I paid £124.60 for 6 nights in April for a studio for 2 people. I was absolutely delighted. The apartment complex is beautiful and with immaculately kept grounds. The apartment itself was very well appointed with a well equipped kitchen area (including washing machine), a separate area with 2 single beds and a good sized bathroom. The décor was a little outdated and could do with a refresh but it was very clean and cleaned 3 times during our 6 day stay.

There are a number of restaurants onsite and happy hour at one was 10am to 6pm however it is really nice to head down to the marina which is only a 15 minute walk. If you wanted to get a taxi it is less than 4 euros.

If you are just looking to relax and do nothing you don't need a car as you can walk to the marina, lots of restaurants , a supermarket and the beach in 15 to 20 mins. The complex is 25 min by car to the airport.

I booked via Travel Republic however the apartment was rented via Ov International - the receptionist for this company was really helpful and even allowed us to stay in the apartment until 5pm on our check out day.

The things you should be aware but still make it great value are:

* Sunbeds by the pool are 3 euros per day - you can book until 2pm for 1.50 euros
* You need to take your own beach /pool towels as you only get one bath and one hand towel for the week
* You pay 2.50 euros per day for the safe in the room

This complex really does offer fantastic value for money, I would not hesitate to go here again.

Room Tip: Phone an onsite agent to specify your requirements as there is lots of choice from studio to 5 bed t...

At first we were worried that there may be a catch to the low price, but I am yet to find anything wrong with this place. I went with my family, just me and my three children, but this place would also be perfect for couples and I have since returned with my partner also. The Old Village is gorgeously picturesque, every house is different in it's own charming little way. There are four different pools to pick from, all dotted around the village, each with their own pool bar. So although you are in walking distance (5/10 minute walk) to the main town and the beach, we rarely felt the need to stray from the pools as there is really already everything you need in the village. The restaurants around the Old Village are small but nice and we went there for a couple of nights, but I would recommend walking down to the marina in the town as it comes alive at night, with a whole strip of gorgeous restaurants (I would recommend the sushi bar it is spectacular!) even though if you are not careful these can be slightly pricey. There is also lots to do in the local area, with regards to watersports and fishing, etc, and the Old Village is right night to a golf-course which could also entertain you for a day.
The staff were lovely and happy to help, and the weather was amazing for the duration. We visited in 2012 and then returned again with a larger group in 2013. Would definitely recommend! PERFECT SUMMER HOLIDAY DESTINATION

We have stayed here many times we like the area not in the center , but its close enough . We like the walk into town .
The village is well set up with a couple of bars and 2 restaurants an a supermarket , children play area and 2 pools.
The apartments are getting a bit dated , they are all privately owned and standard varies a bit 15 years ago it was the place to stay , but we are thinking of looking for other options as the upkeep leaves a lot to be desired. Until there we will be back to Old village
We used to travel with Style holidays , but over the years we arrange it ourselves now as its cheaper , we wait for the Ryan air or easy jet flights to come out and book them . We were recommended to use a company called yellowfishtaxiss to take us to the hotel by fellow travelers , they are very good and well priced and cars with free wifi and a welcome gift on arrival. I would like to suggest them to the readers of this post .

My two teenage daughters and I stayed here over Christmas. What a lovely surprise!. Scrupulously clean, well equipped self-catering apartment (including washing machine as standard), excellent friendly service. There is a shop open everyday until 9pm on site which is well stocked with food, groceries and alcohol etc. Even in December we had some lovely hot sunshine and were able to use the swimming pool onsite. There are actually three swimming pools on the site. This site was very quiet as you would expect for December but we found this an advantage. The apartment we booked was a one bedroom apartment but we were given a two bedroom one with roof terrace which was perfect. The site also has several very reasonably priced places to eat and drink. Vilamoura marina is about a ten minute walk and Quarteira about a five minute drive away. An excellent shopping centre (Algarve Shopping) is located 15 min drive away near Albufeira which has all the fast food restaurants you could want including KFC and McDonalds etc. Closer to the Old Apartments there is a new large supermarket called Pingo Doce on the outskirts of Quarteira. There is also a Lidl in Quarteira. Vilamoura is approximately 20 mins drive from Faro airport. My daughters are very fussy about where we stay but they actually cant wait to return here. I would throroughly recommend Old Village apartments. Excellent value for money.
