We stayed at Praia Village for two weeks in September. The apartment was very well appointed with all the required equipment for a self-catering holiday - air conditioning was a boon. We enjoyed our stay, however, we found the complex to be remote - there was no poolside bar or mini market on site. The nearest supermarket, with suitable provisions for self-catering was at least 10 minutes walk - a bit too far to have to "drag" bottles of water and everyday shopping. While,in the first few days, it didn't seem such a big deal but into the second week, it became a bit of a chore. The walk to the Marina was at least 15 minutes. Due to the large number of vacant undeveloped sites, we found the outlook at the apartments to be unattractive and we had a feeling of isolation because of this, hence, we would not have dreamed of walking back to the apartment at night. The major downside of this apartment is its location in relation to the resort and lack of on-site amenities.
