“Sandy beach and nice bars”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

This is a pleasant sandy beach with good facilities, and a boulevard with several nice bars, restaurants ans boutiques. Combine with a trip to the Castelo.

“Cozy and with all the features you might need”
Reviewed September 22, 2012

This is a very cozy beach with all the features you might need from public toilets to first aids and life guards. If you go by car there's a parking at the hotel just behind the beach. The car park is slightly expensive for Portuguese pockets during the high season but yet nothing that you cannot do. If you dine in some restaurants around you can get a discount on your car park ticket.
The private area of the beach is open to everyone. You can get some beach chairs, sunshades or little marquees for a reasonable price and enjoy a great beach day. The water is cold but the sun invites you to stay. Sand can be very hot sometimes.
The beautiful and recent hotel that is behind it gives it a bit of glamour and the fact that It's not a crowded place and some features are the same since the 80's makes the place very, very special.
I also recommend a small tour before going to the beach to Cabo Espichel (Cape Espichel). You will not regret it!

“Sandy beach, perfect sea”
Reviewed August 3, 2012

Sandy beach with really clean toilet facilities, nice bars and restaurants along the front and the sea is cold but perfectly clear and gets deep quickly, so no wading out for miles! No rocks or seaweed. Lovely white sand. Deck chairs for hire.
