We have visited this restaurant several times in the past en route to the beach at Wassenaar. At lunchtime today, it took 45 minutes to finally get the pancakes and one chicken salad we ordered. As we were not in a rush, I was not too bothered about the very long wait for our food and decided not to complain on this occasion. However, when the bill arrived I was shocked to see that I had been charged 2 euros and 75 cents for a jug of tap water which we had asked for in addition to several soft drinks consumed during our long wait for the food. When I questioned this charge with the Manager, he told me this practice was perfectly normal in Holland (which it is not! He obviously assumed I was a tourist). He then proceeded to point to the menu, where on the back of the menu it allegedly states that a jug of water is available at a cost of 2.75 euros. After profusely complaining and reluctantly paying the bill, the Manager then took 3 euros in change out of his pocket and put it on the bar. I am very disappointed and would not now go back to this restaurant again. So, be warned by ordering a jug of tap water - you will be charged by this restaurant!!
