The castle ruins of Valkenburg are rising high above the small town. Halfway through the climb (there is an elevator too) to the ruins you will find De Haselderhof. It is a new and modern styled café / restaurant. From the restaurant and its lovely terrace you have a magnificent view over Valkenburg and the surrounding green hills. Recently, we had dinner with our family at De Haselderhof. Well, the food was superb, the plates were elegantly made, the service was quick and friendly, the environment was very relaxing, and the combination of all this made the dinner a true feast. The young and enthusiastic Haselderhof team prefers quality and atmosphere above quick wins. Therefore the menu is still limited, but you can certainly find something to your liking. Carlos Wessels and his team like to take into account specific needs of their guests too. I myself am bound to a gluten-free diet and at De Haselderhof they know how to deal with it and to serve an excellent gluten-free diner. Go try it yourself and you will certainly not regret it.
