This was quite an unexpected gem, especially since the restaurant is invisible from the street level. And to make things even more challenging, the Haselderhof shares its entrance with a local tourist attraction. Ohoh !
However .... if you do venture through the touristy glass tower entrance and make it up the hill (by either stairs or elevator) you'll be rewarded for your persistence. The Haselderhof was recently renovated and is now a state of the art building, especially if you appreciate modern design. A terrace with a scenic view over Valkenburg completes the picture. Did I mention the design furniture ?
We were there for lunch which was plentiful, of good quality and clearly made with flair and passion. The staff was friendly and courteous. Probably it is a very nice place for late night drinks too, although I cannot speak from personal experience.
Highly recommended for lunch !
