You wouldn't expect a restaurant in such small street a bit outside the center. But once inside, it looks cozy and "gezellig". De waiter suggested the surprise menu, which is probably their best deal. Included amuses (truffle chips and courgette with ratatouille), king crab stuffed salmon rolls, brill with sea grass in saffron, calf tournedos, pannacotta and pineapple with pina colada and chocolate cake with a great not too sweet dessert wine. We were with a group of colleagues, and the service appears a bit less or less efficient with larger groups.

This small restaurant is open for only 5 evenings a week. In the weekend reservations preferred. They show you real hospitality. The menu from the chef (you can choose from 3 to 6 courses) is recommended accompanied by fitting wines. Great. An evening of entertainment for your taste and smell pallet as well as a feast for the eye..

Been to De Pepermolen again after a few months and the has been a change of chefs. Luckily it's still the same quality we've gotten used to with every meal being a new taste sensation. My tip : Don't order from the menu, but take the chef's 5 course menu and be surprised. We'll be there again in 2 weeks time and again … and again … and again.

near the canal, in a small hidden street, you will find "de pepermolen" (the pepper mil) the first time a visit this exquisit restaurant it was stuffed with old pepper mils. the ambiance is good but simple. the kitchen, the food and companion did make it a remarkable evening and a place to come back - which we did several times ... everything you can think of is handmade with a lot of care. chapeau!

The Pepermolen in Leidschendam is tucked away in a small street and is certainly not what you'd expect to find located there. My sister and I chose the 4 course surprise menu with the wine arrangement. Every mouthful of food is top quality and the wine choices are amazing. The Pepermolen is first class and really should get a 'star' .
