My son recently had his wedding at this venue, we had over 150 guests attend from various parts of the world. At the most part our stay was enjoyable however the most distressing experience occurred during my stay. My diamond and Saphire bracelet which was a gift from my late husband, was stolen from my room the morning of the wedding. I had removed it from the safe to wear it and was called down urgently to reception to handle a matter regarding the wedding and when I returned to my room not only was my door open, the bracelet was gone. When I presented this to reception there was no urgency in trying to solve the matter. I was given a form which was incorrectly filled out by themselves and i have now returned to the UK with no bracelet and no resolution.

I am disgusted and appalled that a staff member could even contemplate taking others people’s personal belongings. I am so devastated by this incident more so that the hotel has not followed this up with me. I am now left with a horrible memory of what was supposed to be one of the happiest days of my life seeing my son get married. I will never consider staying at this hotel again and I warn ALL guests to lock all their personal belongings away.

Dear Mrs. Keane,

We all remember the recent and beautiful wedding of your son. We also remember the report of your missing bracelet. Your claim that day was not a stolen bracelet, it was a bracelet you lost in or around the hotel. This could have been on the boulevard at the Ibiza Market, at our Beachclub O., or perhaps somewhere else in or around the hotel. Unfortunately, 30 hours have passed between the time you have last seen it and the report of missing. A lot could have happened in that timeframe. We searched and filed your report, you have asked a copy for your insurance. You have checked the report during the morning of departure with me and accepted all provided information.

We are surprised to have been reading about your feedback on TripAdvisor. In our opinion, it should have been much better to contact the hotel to determine where we could have been of any assistance regarding your loss. We are truly sorry for the loss of your bracelet on such a beautiful day. In case we can assist you with anything, please feel free to contact us directly.

Warm regards,
Emiel Graas

After a very satisfying stay in this hotel in 2015 it was an obvious choice for us to return when we took two of our grand children for a weeks holiday to Holland. Altoghether again a very enjoyabel experience. Two connecting land view rooms (as confirmed) on the top (5th) floor were assigned, both with a partial sea view - thank you! The rooms are comfortably furnished, with a long desk + chair, comfortable (if somewhat soft) beds, bedside tables (with 2 drawers) with intelligent light switches and usefull additional electrical outlets. Fairly large wardrobes (in both our rooms the sliding doors where VERY hard to slide open or close) and integrated safe (very old model fixed onto the floor, not very practical). The luggage rack has 4 large incorporated drawers, so there is ample space for all types of clothes and belongings. Two armchairs and a sitting room table are placed on a small pedestal underneath the two sliding windows. A large mirror with clothes hanger and sufficient room lighting (ceiling and standing lamp) complete the furnishings, which is of good quality, but not of the latest design... The rooms do not have balconies. The
bathroom offer (very good) ceiling and handheld shower, toilet and wash basin with a large mirror, an ingenious integrated night light, and ample storage space. The rooms are altogether comfortable and well furnished, although the furnishings are somewhat dated. - Cleanliness of the rooms is (mostly) in order, although they were not hoovered every day. Unfortunately the room maids do not always take into account the guests decision to have towels changed or not - they are changed even if replaced on the hangers. Similarly, the DO NOT DISTURB sign is not respected at times. - The german wording of the fire information should be checked!
Altogether an enjoyabel stay enhanced by friendly and helpful staff (desk, pool). We used most restaurants of the hotel - see our comments on the restaurants individually.
We would have greatly appreciated if your reservation department would have agreed to our proposal of reserving connected sea view rooms for us, WITHOUT charging a supplement of €50.-/day for a rollaway for our grand chlld, and maintaining the occupancy for 2 children, since these rooms are all with king size beds, and brother and sister cannot share a double bed, and our itinital request clearly indicated this. Particularly since the hotel was not full at the time of our stay. The hotel revenue would have been higher by selling sea view rooms for a week!

Spent a long family weekend here.

Pros: Rooms are spacious, staff are friendly. The wave pool is lovely. Rooms have coffee machines, nespresso.

Cons: There are mice running around the Bentley bar.
The spa is nude so not welcoming for women, basically it is just a haven for creepy guys. My daughter and I went in but were the only women there and quickly left when a Weinstein type demanded we strip. Shame as it's a nice spa, the hotel should realise we are no longer in the 1970s.

Dear Janemarmar,

Thank you for your recent visit and for complimenting the friendliness of our colleagues and the facilitiies in the hotel.

It is dissapointing to read that your expectations were not met in all areas of your experience and will ensure your feedback is shared internally. It is however common in European bathing houses to enter the facilities without swimming gear and are fequently visited by female guests Recently we have also introduced Wednesday as a day whereby the sauna facilities can be visited with swim gear to facilitate a broader audience. Furthermore we do have ongoing programs in the hotel that include pest prevention and have taken your feedback into account for the Bentley Bar and terrace area.

Please do let us know if you would like to get in touch personally and we can be contacted by calling +31 761 367 6869 or by email at l.vanmierlo@hotelsvanoranje.nl

We stayed here for one night in August. We loved the hotel. From the small touches of fresh fruit available all the time in public spaces, to the design and general feel of the hotel. The rooms were spacious, the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was also decent, especially the spelt bread. It’s right by the beach. We would definitely recommend staying here, you won’t regret it! We will probably be back ourselves, this time with our child.

We had never been to Noordwijk, nor had we ever visited the beach on the North Sea and figured this would be an excellent way to do both and ease our jet lag before visiting Amsterdam. We could not have been more pleased.

The staff who greeted us upon arrival and everyone we encountered during our stay were friendly, accommodating and courteous. The rooms and the common areas shared a common, pleasant signature scent which vaguely resembled fresh oranges. The lobby featured cold water and snacks replenished several times daily. On site there is a restaurant and a large indoor wave pool.

We found our rooms to be recently renovated and immaculately clean. They contained robes, a safe, complementary bottled water and stroopwafels, Nespresso machine and plenty of soaps and lotions. They even stocked the bathroom with bar soap and shower gel, unusual for hotels in Europe. The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows.

The location of the hotel could not be beat, across the street from the beach and a short walk to numerous restaurants, shops and markets. One thing to take note about the location. It is easy getting Uber to take you to the hotel but nearly impossible to find one available leaving the hotel. It is not a location where lots of drivers hang out since they can make much more money in Amsterdam.

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and hope to return again.

Dear catdad,

Thank you for your detailed compliments and we are are delighted to read you have thoroughly enjoyed your stay with us at Hotel van Oranje.

It is great that you have enjoyed the location, the service as well as the facilities to this extent and your kind words will be shared with our colleagues internally.

Further, it is indeed not easy to find Uber servises outside of Amsterdam, hence we do offer taxi services at the reception that can be arranged within 15 minutes of the departure time.

We do hope you have also enjoyed your visit to Amsterdam and look forward to welcome you back on your next visit to the Netherlands.
