I had been to Paris with two my friends. The Hotel is good for short stay. The rooms are pretty clean and compact . The location of the hotel is inconvenient as you have walk 10 mins to catch the RER B line which goes directly to CDG airport costing 9.75 euros one way. Paris being an expensive city, the hotel price is really reasonable. We were three, we got two standard non-connecting rooms with AC for two nights for good price. Worth staying at Ibis.

The hotel is located far away from the metro station. People approaching via Porte'd Italia station might confuse this one with another iBis Budget which is close by as we did. The rooms are pretty clean and a lot of tourist buses are present outside the hotel. The hotel is generally full considering the hotel's location and price for being 3 star.

There is room for improvement at Ibis Hotel Porte D'italie

I came to this hotel with expectations of an economy room. I received an economy room with no air conditioning the entire time I stayed in Paris. Had I not been part of a tour group I would have left the first day. Sweating is the order of business with no relief. We were actually told the A/C was removed this time of year. That is a cost saving measure that should result in a refund. No relief was offered.

The first morning for the buffet I encountered a very nice fare of breads, cakes, quiche, and fruit. Several juices and coffee options are there as well. The buffet was very nice. A young woman employee would yell pardon roughly and actually bump guests to get to and from the kitchen with her trolley. I just shook my head in disbelief. Where did this young lady learn her manners? She could use a refresher in customer service training? So could the next employee.

On my second sweaty night, May19, 2014, when I went to ask for ice at the hotel bar because the hotel does not have a common ice machine, the young barman with a flat-top style haircut complained...shouted really...."don't come back for more ice!" This was done in front of over 20 other hotel guests. I asked for ice in a cardboard box that I had brought from my room because they did not have any ice buckets according to another sweaty guest I met in the hall. The barman was rude and embarrassed himself in front of a room full of guests. I expect an apology from management in writing and will forward this response to all forums possible. Perhaps he couldn’t deal with the heat either. This type of customer disrespect speaks volumes for the training of the staff. Disgraceful and shameful behavior.

In fairness the front desk staff were very accommodating to all of my requests for information and an extra key. They actually told me to go to the bar the day before to get ice. The level of professionalism during the daytime was excellent. Considering the volume of guest/group travelers they seemed very cool and professional...even without air conditioning.

I would hope management speaks to the two employees mentioned in this review as their behavior was unprofessional. Please advertise you are an air conditioning free location so that my tour group can seek alternate reservations where air conditioning is provided. It is hard to look elegant when you are sweating in your formal attire.
Please fix the A/C and the customer service issues.

Room Tip: Call to ask if Air Conditioning, Ice, or refridgerator are available.

It's an experience, rooms were clean nothing great, small towels only. Location is OK if you have a car or very fit to walk to the train station... which is a bit of an uphill trek.
Traveling by the train is fine but not as easy as the London Underground system... unless of course you are fluent in French. Other than that take it in your stride it's an experience just embrace it :)

Staff can be a bit more helpful with directions to local transportation etc... Maps would be great, and a few pointers to which stations from Hotel to Tour Eiffel and surrounding areas...

N.B No room service note kettle in rooms so not good for the elderly citizen for sure or for a couple who want to relax and order food in..... more for trekkers.....

Room Tip: No room service. so not good for the elderly citizen for sure or for a couple who want to relax and...

Convenient for a weekend trip to Paris. 10 min walk to local train station on the RER line direct from CDG airport. Just a few stops from St Michel/Notre Dame station. Room are recently modernised with good showers and comfortable beds.
The all-you-can-eat self service buffet breakfast at €9.50 was pretty good, tortilla, cheese, ham, tea, coffee, cereals, juice, breads, crepes, pancakes, fresh fruit, yoghurt, jams, cakes.
Got a good deal on booking.com, €54 per night for a double.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back, less noise from the nearby peripherique motorway.
