“Part of an excellent San Rocco double header”
Reviewed June 10, 2014

Recommended by our hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, struggling to understand some of the more negative reviews. The trofie with pesto was superb, fish ravioli very good, main course of grilled fish exquisite, all simple rustic fare executed very well. Desserts also good. Try to get a table inside in one of the charming rooms, not so keen on the outside bit. Service was efficient, and the only downer to some extent the fairly basic wines. Doesn't get busy until 8.30 onwards, atmosphere can be a little stale before that - stick around at Dai Muagetti round the corner until the sun sets.

“Brilliant Italian cooking”
Reviewed June 3, 2014

The restaurant is located on top of a hillside in the little village of San Rocco, between Camogli and Portofino. It's a very clean and neat and cosy place which is frequented mostly by Italians and very few tourists. The kitchen is classical regional Italian cooking. Not artyfarty, but rather genuine, honest and simply delicious. The cook loves to serve fresh seafood, so we were spoilt by a generous plate of seafood antipasti followed by some homemade pastries, filled with cheese, and ravioli with fish stuffing. Main courses are fish in different variations or meat, including coniglio. The desserts are a treat as well. Service is extremely friendly and fast. The prices are very decent for what you get including local and regional wines from a small, but efficient wine list. Don't miss this place. And try the coffee cake (superrich, but worth killing for).

“Best Homemade/home produced Ligurian dishes”
Reviewed May 15, 2014

Paolo, owner and Chef is a great and caring man ensuring he will satisfy you at best. Beautifully located on the hill of S. Rocco this little restuarant is beautifull decorated. All the dishes are homemade/home produced...the Trofie with pesto and green beans...I'm just speechless...I'm dreaming them at night! The filled of local cheeses sardines fried are a delicacy! The homemade almond tarte absolutely delicious!

“Disappointed”
Reviewed January 22, 2014

We were not impressed in our visit to Nonna Nina. It had been highly recommended to us by our host in Camogli but perhaps we make the wrong choices. We visited for dinner, the place was packed and we were seated at one of the tables at the very entrance of the restaurant, in a small lateral area, so I cannot comment on the general ambiance. The food was utterly unremarkable, with anti-pasti that felt heavy as a brick. Moreover, to reach the place in the evening is a bit of a trek. Nona Ninna was definitely not a highlight in our holidays.

“Traditional Home-Cooked Ligurian Recipes: a Must-Try Restaurant”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

There are already so many damn reviews of this place, so it seems almost superfluous to add to the accolades, but I'm going to do it anyway. The menu is written in Ligurian dialect and offers only few choices but all tipically Ligurian dishes.
Yes, this place is quite expensive but oh! so very very good. I'd say it's one of those "must-try one time" kind of places.
