Absolutely superb stay. Fully recommend to couples for a magnificent sightseeing base

Important to get a lake view room though - the higher the better

A little noisy but you are smack in the middle of a really bustling town so that's to be expected. Not expensive either for what you get. Service is excellent, cleanliness really good throughout and breakfast extensive, fresh and tasty

Would definitely go back. Not really for families but if you want a swim then go soouth from the town and a short walk past the car park gets you by the side of the lake where it's great to have a dip

Didn't eat in the hotel other than at breakfast but spoke to some people who had done and they said it was very very good

Don't miss out on this real gem of a hotel. We will certainly be back

Room Tip: High floor if you can. Must must must take a lake view

This hotel is nestled on the edge of Limone sul Garda. When you enter your room and look out from the balcony it takes your breath away. The room was clean, well decorated and simple in its decoration. The staff were warm and friendly and responded to any questions that you had. However if we hadn't asked I don't think we would have been given any advise on local attractions and transport.
You are very close to all restaurants, boat rides and lakeside swimming. We arrived by car and had to drive down the pedestrian piazza. This felt very wrong being a follower of British traffic rules. You then have to take your suitcases a couple of 100 metres to the hotel frontage. Then return your car back to the main road to put your car in the free parking. Don't let this put you off. The effort is well worth it !!!
We didn't eat breakfast in the hotel as we felt that this was over priced. However we did have an evening meal on our second night in the hotel restaurant and this was far superior to one of the lakeside restaurants. Make sure you book a table on the balcony if you want to eat outside. The service is excellent and the food matches this. It was very romantic.

Room Tip: You really need a balcony room to appreciate how beautiful this place really is. We had a room with...

Hotel Monte Baldo is fabulous. It is situated in the best position with outstanding views. Wonderful in the daytime to watch the ferries coming and going and 'people' watching. At night very quiet - we were only disturbed by the sound of the fishing boats in the little harbour beneath our balcony knocking together. The staff were most friendly and made us feel very welcome. We had a lake view balcony room and it was serviced beautifully every day. The buffet breakfast was outstanding and we had three wonderful dinners in the restaurant and took advantage of their 10% discount for residents. The only negative was that our air conditioning broke down and could not be fixed over a weekend. However, a fan was supplied. The hotel arranged our taxi transfers to and from Verona and our cases were taken from the taxi right to our room. The area immediately outside the hotel does not really have vehicle access so it was good to have this service. All in all this was one of the bext holidays we have had. We stayed for 8 nights and could have stayed longer. A perfect hotel in a perfect location. Congratulations all staff at Monte Baldo. We look forward to returning soon.

Room Tip: PLEASE pay the supplement for a lake view room - you won't be disappointed.

We have recently returned from the Hotel Monte Baldo in Limone having experienced a wonderful 7 day holiday. The location of this hotel was for us absolutely superb - true it can be busy and noisy in the street outside at times but this is a small price to pay for the stunning views from the hotel front bedrooms and its very convenient and interesting location. It is bang in the middle of a busy resort so these minor negatives should be expected and tolerated in view of the many positives. The area quietens down considerably after the lake ferries stop running early in the evening.
Limone is a really magical place busy on the front during the afternoons but it is easy to get away from the crowds if you want to by walking north or south along the lake edge or up into the hills (nice path along the San Giovanni stream from the edge of the public park). There are numerous quieter narrow alleyways and cobbled streets off the front to explore and several good inexpensive welcoming restaurants and bars away from the more touristy areas providing good quality food and drinks.
The Hotel Monte Baldo is exceptionally clean with excellent facilities, friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast is very good and the meals in the bar or restaurant are first class with a very interesting menu and an excellent wine list .
This is a hotel which is well worth returning to which is something we intend to do as soon as possible.

Just back from a very disappointing holiday. The Hotel itself is nice, staff friendly & helpful. Rooms are clean but bed not changed all week particularly as air conditioning wasn't working for 5 days out of 7! Toiletries ie soap not replenished & no shower gel/shampoo provided. Breakfast was very good although dining room extremely hot. The location is ok as long as you don't mind noise outside from 6am which we had to endure owing to the lack of air con & the necessity to have all the windows open due to the heat. We were offered a reduction of 20 euros which didn't compensate for the lack of sleep. Going back to the location the Port is more like a market square FULL of mainly English & German tourists very crowded & noisy. The shops are full of the usual tourist tack & virtually all the lake front restaurants have the same menu the sort you would expect to find in Benidorm. If the hotel were in a different location it would be great.

Room Tip: Pay extra for a lake view, as far as we could see other rooms have one small window & no view.

We had high hopes for the Monte Baldo Hotel having read wonderful reviews and we were not disappointed. We always try to stay in small, characterful hotels and the Monte Baldo is a gem tucked away in the heart of Limone a short walk from where our taxi was able to drop us off. The hotel is so pretty and we received a warm welcome once we had found our way to the first floor reception area. Our room, on the second floor, was a delight with stunning views across the little harbour and lake to distant mountains. We also had the bonus of a side window which looked along the little paved street alongside. Sitting on our balcony and taking in the sights in the evening became a true pleasure. Our room was very comfortable and quite spacious as well as being smartly decorated with highly efficient air conditioning...always a plus!. The ensuite bathroom was of excellent standard....everything worked really well. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts, which were ample with good choice, especially when it was not too hot to sit on the terrace balcony and continue to admire our surroundings. The restaurant was also a most attractive space and we admired the simple but stylish traditional decor. We had three evening meals at the hotel, one in the bar-restaurant down stairs, where we enjoyed tasty food and cheerful service from friendly staff.
There were really no negative points to report regarding the hotel from our point of view but some guests may find some street noise (clearing out bottles, deliveries, etc.) in the morning a problem. This was a small price to pay, and to be expected, if one stays in the middle of Limone.
We had a wonderful week's break on Lake Garda and explored on foot and via boat. There is a lot to do including lake bathing (very refreshing but rocky underfoot), walking, places of interest, etc. The north end of the lake, where Limone is situated, was, in our view, the most spectacular and interesting with the mountains as backdrop and the higgledy-piggledy streets which were full of charming discoveries. Limone itself also has a lovely promenade which makes for great evening strolls along the lake. The fact one can drink the local water and fill up bottles from taps on many street corners was also a plus for us, though those with sensitive tummys may want to take care.
This was our first visit to the Italian Lakes and we are sure it won't be our last. We hope to return to Monte Baldo Hotel.

Spending three nights at the Monte Baldo was an absolute joy. We had a beautiful room with a balcony on the top floor with a spectacular view looking down on Limone, at the expanse of Lake Garda and the beauty of Monte Baldo across the lake. The breakast buffet was very good with indoor or outdoor seating looking out on the lake. The restaurant proved to be as good as mentioned by other Trip Advisor reviewers. I would highly recommend the tender and sweet grilled prawns. The friendly and attentive service staff made our drinks in the bar and our dinner a most enjoyable experience.
The local police allow you to drive along the pedestrian lakefront to their police station and tourist information building which leaves just a short walk with your luggage to the Monte Baldo. The hotel provides free parking at the nearby parking garage.
The hotel is centrally located and convenient to dinning, shopping, night life, and the ferry which we took for a short ride across the lake to Melcesine where we took the cablecar up Monte Baldo for spectacular views of the lake.

Room Tip: Request a top floor lakeside room if available.
