“Penny Pinching Ethos.”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

June 2013. We found this hotel to be mediocre in everything it offered. We stayed bed and breakfast and found the breakfasts dull and uninviting, with limited choice. The rolls were then left out all day, ready for the evening meal! A single boiled egg was an extra 1.50 euros!!! One teabag of an obscure brand was provided per person.
The decor of the whole hotel was 1970s, looking tired and dated. The pool area, although small ( 8 sunloungers ) was pleasant and well maintained. Traffic noise from the main road at the front is intrusive, particuarly from the numerous motorbikes that travel in convoy circling the Lake.
We were both ill at this hotel, with a tummy bug that we felt sure was not food related;( there was a 48hr interval between myself and my partner's symptoms). Other guests had heard of others being ill. The owner was more interested in trying to charge an extra 30 euros to keep a room for an extended few hours on the day of departure ( my partner was still unwell), than the possibility that the hotel could be harbouring a viral outbreak! The Lake, in all its magnificence, did however make the holiday truly memorable.

Room Tip: At the front of the hotel, its best to be on the higher floors. Avoid the end room on the 1st floor...

We stayed at this hotel May 2013. It is a family run hotel brother & sister. They where both very nice. Rooms basic but clean and had all you needed for your holiday. I would recomend to book a room on the front of the hotel overlooking the lake. Also book a balcony. Well worth it, For views and to sit out on. Breakfast was the usual continental. but there was plenty to eat.

We stayed bed & breakfast so we could eat in different places during the evening. I would recomend to do this also. You can eat in this hotel if you want to on a day to day basis. So you have the choice to eat out or not.

Step hills to get onto the prom & front of lake. But only 5mins walk.

Room Tip: front of hotel opposite the lake with a balcony

The Hotel commands a wonderful location over Limone & Lake Garda, but you need to have a front room with balcony to appreciate the stunning views.
Our double room was lovely and clean, with the balcony as a bonus. The bed was very comfortable, and we hardly noticed the traffic noise from the main road, which runs in front of the hotel. Fresh towels were provided every day.
Dominic and Sophie, the brother and sister who run the hotel, couldn't do enough for us.
The breakfasts are fairly basic, but adequate. We did have a couple of evening meals in the hotel, but choice was limited, so we were glad we'd only booked B&B, which enabled us to try different resturants in the town.

Room Tip: Definitley choose a front room with balcony

The Hotel is very good value for money. Great views over the Lake. The owners were very friendly and extremely helpful.
If I were staying again I would try to get a room with a balcony. You must get a room over looking the lake, as the view is absolutely beautiful.
The only downsides were that the Hotel is by a busy road, so the veranda by the restaurant can get a bit noisy with road traffic; when we stayed our room was uncomfortably hot at night as there is no air conditioning. It would be great if the owners could find some way of keeping the rooms cooler.
I would stay again because of the great service.

Room Tip: You must get a room over looking the lake with a balcony, as the view is absolutely beautiful.

We got a cheap deal for this hotel though Ingham's, and whilst the hotel was adequate I would not have wanted to pay the full price. The first room we were shown to was extremely small, and as we were two friends travelling together we wanted single beds, this room was made as a double but we were told they could be made into singles, but really we would literally not have room to turn around, so we requested another room and were given one immediately. This was a little larger, and much better laid out, no balcony, but a superb view over the lake. The rooms were always cleaned very efficiently, and sheets/towels changed as necessary. The breakfast was a typical buffet, so quite monotonous, there was always three choices of starter, mains and dessert for evening meal, so usually something for everyone, and a lovely salad bar to fill up with.
The owners, brother and sister, do everything they can to make your stay a good one, and it is really nice on an evening to sit with your after dinner coffee and a drink looking at the view over the lake, and the terrace is very well used, so always someone to chat to.
If I did have a gripe it would be the amount of loungers/chairs around the pool, the hotel was full whilst we were there and there was just not enough room to sit around the pool. Of course there were some who were 'bagging' their loungers by 7am, and they just seemed to stay there until late in the day, so we only went down to the pool a couple of times, cannot do with al that hassle - such a shame though.
Limone is a beautiful resort, yes it is hilly, but you do get used to it, and yes the hotel is next to a main road, but it was never too noisy to sleep, although if you are older or less mobile it would be extremely difficult getting your case up the flights of stairs to get into the hotel, we struggled somewhat, but the views once you are up there are great.

Room Tip: Would probably be best to pay a bit more and get a room with a balcony
