We went to Lindos Mare for a week on our honeymoon and we were extremely happy with our choice. We went for a junior suite which was very clean with modern furnishings - beautiful bathroom and great view of the sea.
Pool was lovely and clean and the poolside restaurant and bar had lovely lunchtime meals and we really enjoyed the entertainment at night - Greek night was very good.
We enjoyed the hotel's main restaurant's food for our evening meals and breakfast - there was plenty of choices.
Staff were very helpful and were very kind to us - they gave us complimentary bubbly, fruit basket and nut/honey mixture along with a card to congratulate us on our marriage.
Slight negatives were that it was a lot of steps down to the sea, but to be honest I preferred the pool anyway. Also, hotel was slightly isolated - however, it was only a short and cheap shuttle bus ride away from the charming town of Lindos - a definate must to visit.
I would also recommend the trips around Rhodes and visiting Rhodes town itself.

All in all we couldnt have asked for a better honeymoon and we are grateful to the staff for making our stay so nice.

Room Tip: junior suite was very good with balcony and sea view

We decided to book a last minute holiday at the Lindos Mare on the recommendation of our son and daughter-in-law as they had a most enjoyable stay the previous year. We were not disappointed. From the very start when we emailed a request not to be situated on the ground floor until the day we left everybody was so friendly, pleasant, helpful and cheerful they could not do enough for us. Even though they were coming to the end of a very busy season and were probably all tired and looking forward to having some time off themselves they did not show it.

We thought the venue and room was perfect lovely and clean, We found the bathroom with the window overlooking the bedroom ( as mentioned by a previous writter) rather novel - we had a lovely view out to sea - we could close the electrically operated blind for privacy. It also gave the room a feeling of spaciousness.

I thought I was booking a la carte so when we arrived was disappointed to be told it was buffet but the main course would be served. I dislike seeing food en masse but at the Lindos Mare we were pleasantly surprised the food was excellent with plenty of variety, selection and presentation. Our choices for the main course were also very tasty and well presented. We were not made to feel rushed in anyway and the staff would stop to chat with us whilst serving. We very much enjoyed the Greek evening when the staff joined with the guests in the entertainment and dancing.

The beach was always kept clean and tidy by the beach boy who was very attentative for drinks and snacks.

A number of couples we chatted to were regular visitors returning year after year, some returning twice a year so this speaks for itself of the standard and quality of the hotel. A big thank you to all the staff for making our stay at the Lindos Mare just perfect. We will be returning hopefully next year.

What can I say that hasn't already been said about this lovely hotel. We stayed in a junior suite on the top floor above reception. The view was wonderful overlooking Vlicha Bay and worth the trek up and down all the steps to get to the beach and back although we did sometimes use the lifts once we found them. It certainly kept us fit! The staff were excellent and the food good although it did get a bit repetitious towards the end of our 14 day stay.

The hotel is a little isolated being located in a small bay with only another 3 hotels in the area. We discovered 2 small bars and a couple of restaurants close by but they all closed down during our stay. The little supermarket also closed at the end of our first week so we did feel that it was very much the end of the season. Fortunately the hotel was full and put on entertainment 2-3 times per week including 2 wonderful Greek Nights where the staff take part as well as Greek dancers. These nights were such fun and I think everyone who came had a really good time.

We hired a car for 3 days and explored the southern part of the island which is quite underdeveloped and completely different to Rhodes Town and the northern end which we also visited to see how it had changed from our first visit 30 years ago.

The only downside to our holiday was the weather which after the first 3 days became more unsettled and cooler, particularly during the evenings which was a shame as it wasn't warm enough to sit outside and enjoy the view whilst sipping our delicious after dinner cocktails! I also found the swimming pool didn't pass my 'big toe test', the water being too cold to tempt me to go in although some hardy souls didn't seem to mind.

I celebrated my birthday during our stay and there was fruit and champagne left in our room on the day which was a lovely touch. In the evening we ate in the Al la carte restaurant and after a delicious meal the waiters 'surprised' me with a tasty birthday cake and sang Happy Birthday in several different languages plus Jingle Bells and We Wish You a Happy Christmas!!

Overall we had an enjoyable holiday which met my expectations. Would I return? Probably but not in October!

Staying at the Lindos Mare for ten days in mid-October I've penned some comments for future guests.

Check-in was hassle free, quick and easy. I was a little unsure why passports needed to be retained for 24 hours behind the reception desk but there you go.

Room was more than acceptable. I'll be honest and say the complimentary bottle of wine was not to my liking but welcome all the same. The bathroom has a bizarre arrangement whereby a blind is electrically lowered over a window that overlooks the bed and out through the bedroom to the balcony. Not wholly sure why this was designed as a feature of the room as neither the view through the room is great or unobscured. We kept the blind down the whole time. The room was spotlessly clean.

Yes, the hotel is on many levels but you soon get your bearings. I just followed my wife! I never swam in the two pools but was told they were a tad cool at this time of year but many guests enjoyed taking a dip.

The stroll down to the beach is via a lift or steps. The beach was clean and the waiter on the beach very helpful and pleasant. Thank you.

We stayed half board and must say the food was very good. Well, the cold and hot buffets were excellent. I would say the best I've ever had in terms of selection and variety. The main course, that was waiter or waitress served, was always a little disappointing. The main course was well presented but the meat was either processed, dry or over cooked. But then when you consider this is bordering mass catering the quality was as I say very good.

I would like to say how well the waiters and waitress' performed and worked very well as a team. In particular the two gentlemen maître d’s were excellent. On occasions you felt as if you were being rushed to free a table for the next guests but that was not a great problem for us. Maybe it was just the staff being very efficient. The whole team dealt with the children very well and they made a dining experience most enjoyable. Well done to them all.

We walked into Lindos and St. Paul's Bay on three occasions. It's a 30 minute walk and whilst some of it is to the side of the road not too difficult. The views are fantastic and to be honest less hassle than the bus. We used the bus to return on one occasion and must have caught the school bus run. Lindos itself whilst very picturesque is full of cafes and shops selling tourist trinkets. We enjoyed just walking through and visiting St. Paul's Bay for a lovely quiet swim.

All in all staying at Lindos Mare was wonderful. Throughly enjoyed the hotel and the staff. I would highly recommend for a lazy beach holiday.

I heard of Lindos Mare (pronounced MAR-eee) from a comment on my blog. We checked their website, with its beautiful photos. I wondered, "Is it really this good?"

And the answer: yes. It really is. Lindos Mare is everything it claims to be. The hotel has convenient access to the beach, and a nice part of the beach at that. It is fairly close to Lindos and about an hour's bus ride from Rhodes Town.

The staff was top-notch, providing excellent service without a hint of pretentiousness. The rooms were kept meticulously clean. We stayed two days longer than planned due to an air traffic controller strike that caused the cancellation of our return flight, and they were very accommodating - even driving us to a pharmacy to get additional medication that my wife required. Nobody "goes the extra mile" for guests better than Lindos Mare.

The beach is beautiful, and is soft sand both on shore and underwater. It was peaceful and relaxing.

The ride into Lindos is about a EUR 6 taxi ride, or a EUR 1.60 bus ticket. The taxi takes you to the square, while the bus takes you to the top of the hill, which you'll then have to walk down to get to the town. There is a fee of an additional Euro or two, imposed by the taxi companies, if the hotel calls a taxi for you, but the taxi arrives in just a few minutes.

The taxi fare to Rhodes will be at least EUR 50, so we opted for the bus, which takes about an hour. It runs about once an hour to Rhodes and is EUR 5 per person. The Rhodes station is New Market, which is just a few blocks from Old Town. This makes Lindos Mare reasonably convenient for access to Lindos or Rhodes without a car.

The hotel is built into the side of the mountain. The lobby is at the top, the beach at the bottom, and rooms all along the way. A system of lifts will get you almost all the way from lobby to beach without needing to climb many stairs. The restaurants, spa, and one of the pools is about 3/4 of the way up.

Lindos Mare has free wireless in the lobby and pay-for Internet access in the rooms. It appears to be that some rooms have wireless, and others require an Ethernet cable (so it works for laptops but not phones or tablets). The wireless in the lobby worked well, but the access, even wired, in our room was frequently very slow and appears to be overloaded.

Our package included breakfast and dinner in the main restaurant. This was good, and I would say generally above average when compared to American chains such as Hyatt. However, it was not up to the standards of the better local restaurants, and got a bit monotonous after a few days. Dinner has buffet-style appetizers, main course served to your table, and then buffet-style dessert. This system worked better than expected. The service was extremely prompt and efficient, though sometimes bordered on seeming like they were anxious to get people through quickly to free up a table.

Overall, highly recommended. Rhodes is beautiful and historic, and Lindos Mare is a nice place to stay with both excellent beach access and pretty good access to Lindos and Rhodes.

Room Tip: if you are staying at the Lindos Mare primarily to visit the beach, ask for a room towards the botto...

Well were do i start,As all the others have said its a great place to stay, the staff are very polite, plesant and cant do enough for you.The hotel is modern and clean as are the rooms which are very comfortable, the food is of a very good standard and plenty of it. BUT no one has mentioned the steps, hundreds of them, YES there are lifts to every level, but when the lifts are full you feel like you should walk, blimey its a good work out.The pool is a good size and the sunbeds were easy to get, with plenty of shade if thats your thing, the beach can get busy so you need to get down there early,so in short any hotel that you would go back to has got to be good and this hotel is just that, good ,very good. enjoy

Room Tip: try and get a room with a view,it might be extra but it will be worth it.

We visited the hotel in the latest post season periode in October. Nevertheless it was very noisy until 11 PM since our junior suite (no 111) was situated directly above the pool bar where night shows and music acts took place. Apart from that the noise of the elevator was nervracking, too. Therefore in every case try to get a quieter room (more at the bottom part of the slope). Nevertheless it's a recommendable spot: Food and facilities are great, the buffet is rich and the hotel ist very clean.
