Ate here after very bad experience in another restaurant. Good food and service. Nothing more needs said.

“Family Run With Fantastic Greek Food”
Reviewed June 7, 2012

We loved it! This was the first place we ate when we arrived and we continuously compared all other meals against the food at Hermes. My favourite memory of the holiday (although my girlfriend is a little disappointed in this comment) was the Aubergine Salad. I made this fairly obvious to the waiter who one night gave me a free take away of the salad with pitta bread. It is made by his mother who I asked to take home with me but I don't think she was keen. All the food was beautiful, such as the fried vegetables and the cheese saganaki. The waiter was good fun, he had time to have a laugh and discsuss recipes but also allowed us to have a romantic evening.

Although we are vegetarian we heard other people praising the meat and fish dishes.

It's great to eat at a restaurant that is family run - knowing the money isn't going to one of the big businesses that seem to be taking over and that seem to be linked to many of the package companies.

We would recommend drinking ouzo with your meal and that you have a selection of meze appetisers, if you can manage to choose just a few from the extensive menu. But if you're not sure what to choose, the waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable about the food and drink. Try the Plomari ouzo bottle to share with water and ice.

We loved it, I will be asking the Aubergine Salad to marry me!

“Lovely food and good service”
Reviewed October 10, 2011

We visited for lunch after a long hot morning sightseeing in Lindos. The terrace was full but we were offered a table inside which I actually preferred as it was very cool with the air conditioning. The staff were very pleasant, if a bit harrassed as it was so busy.
We had a selection of meze - hummous, dolmades, calamari, bread and salad. All were great. Very reasonably priced for Lindos too.
I could not disagree more with the negative reviews below.

“As good now as it was 10 years ago”
Reviewed September 18, 2011

We could not agree less with the previous reviewers comments .
We visited en masse - a group 9 strong - in May 2011 and during our stay visited several times at different times of the day , each time we and our friends were treated exceptionally well - welcomed as old friends, and nothing was too much trouble for the hard working staff . Tables were moved to accomodate us and staff were entertaining and attentive .

Their food is good quality , simple Greek home cooked fare , at reasonable prices for Lindos which can tend to be on the pricier side! There is a good choice for vegeratian eaters and they will accomodate particular dietary requirements if you ask.

The surroundings are pleasant - a vine covered roof garden with views across the Lindos rooftops and to the sea beyond, it's lovely just to sit and watch the evening come in and lights begin to twinkle across the town.
We appreciate if they are busy it's hard to get a level of 'personal' service but the busyness is testament to how popular the place is.
To cap it all we held our wedding reception there 10 years ago and it was as good then as it is now !

“Great food, stunning views.”
Reviewed September 10, 2011

I was shocked to read the other two reviews. Our experience was fantastic on the times we've eaten at Hermes. Sammi and the rest of the staff were great, they are attentive but not hanging around. You are not pushed into buying drinks and they are more than happy to provide just water. The food is always top notch, the kleftiko is a speciality and deserves to be. We will be eating there again without doubt.
