Lovely service, beautiful panorama and very tasty food. I suggest any dish from the alacarte menu. Also they have a good choice of wines.

We were looking forward to going to this restaurant as 2 people recommended it and the reviews were good, but were very disappointed. It completely lacked any atmosphere! We had a drink in the bar which had lovely views but only one other couple there and my husband had to go looking for barman to get a second drink. We went to restaurant and had a lovely table with a lovely view but only 6 other people in restaurant, no atmosphere at all. No music and a lot of staff. The food was ok but not the best we have eaten and very expensive in comparison. The hotel itself looked lovely and very quirky.

Trip Advisor Review

Melenos Roof Top Dining

This place is pure poetry. If you’d like to treat yourself with a real explosion of tastes and make your palate extremely happy, this is the only restaurant you should consider. Imagine that you can enjoy a breathtaking view on top of that. This is the most amazing experience you could ever dream of. Everything starts with pleasant and attentive staff who make you feel as if you were royalty. The exquisite and wonderfully served food and the variety of marvelous wines are there to make the experience complete. The rooftop where the restaurant is located feels like the top of the world and this makes Melenos the perfect place for a proposal or a wedding – this is definitely the right spot for anything that requires romance, especially at night. The starry sky over your head looks like it’s out of this world! Definitely a must-see and a must-come-back restaurant that will become one of your most precious memories from Greece.

We chose this restaurant because of the good reviews and unfortunately were disappointed.
The view is beautiful and the drinks tasted good. We came to the restaurant at around 9.30 p.m. which in my experience generally is no problem in Greece. There were few guests left however and we couldn’t fail to notice, that the waiters weren’t too happy about our arrival, since it meant longer work. The service was attentive but unfortunately not friendly.
The food in our opinion was not worth the price. We got offered some bread, olives, harissa and hummus, which all tasted good. After that we shared a starter, the steamed mussels. I love mussels but these ones didn‘t taste like much and lacked salt. For the main course we had a grilled sea bream and seafood ravioli. Both courses were plated very elaborately. Unfortunately we had the impression that the restaurant considers the presentation of the food to be more important than the food itself, as again, it didn‘t taste special at all. For dessert we shared a decomposed ravani cake with ice cream which actually was quite good. Also the lemon liqueur we got offered in the end was very good.
For the three plates, one dessert, two glasses of white wine and one bottle of still water we paid EUR 128. For food that doesn‘t taste special and a service that doesn‘t make you feel welcome, we consider this to be too much clearly.

We dined at Melenos twice. It is great location with views across Lindos Bay. Sometimes it can be breezy. There is a small pergola enclosed lounge area close by the restaurant where pre dinner drinks can be taken, it also has views across the bay.

The waiters are efficient, their manner may seem formal at times.

Dinner starts with a good selection of breads and olives, etc.

The crispy courgette balls were a favouite starter, the stuffed aubergine with tomatoes was good.

The main course calamari may be a bit of a specialist item, it comes with quite a large amount of bright green mint liquer (think creme de menth in colour). It was not unpleasant, but maybe a bit on the overpowering side. The calamari itself was tender and well cooked.

The seabass (now mandatory by international law on all menus, it seems) can be recommended. The pancetta risotto was ok, it was risotto.

The most expensive item on the menu at €33 received a very mixed reaction from my wife. It is a mixed seafood ravioli served in an olive oil and full cream dressing. For our tastes there was simply too much cream which spoilt the dish and overpowered the delicate seafood.

Deserts are very good, note that the orange five ways desert has a quite large and dense sponge type cake, some may find it a bit rich.

Our wines came by the glass and comprised of local drinkable white and much better red.
