We've just returned from Xenones (21/9/13 - 28/9/13) and I cant recomend this place enough !!
The Rooftop Terrace is an Absolute Gem with outstandin views of the old town and the sea.
We were looky enough to get the rooftop to ourselves most of the day, and was entertained most of the time by three little kittens who became our furry little friends.
The room was basic but it had everything we needed for our stay in Lindos, It was cleaned spotless everyday by a nice polite lady. (who even washed our pots, bless her)
We never saw Andy, but we didn't need to, and we knew where he was if anything would have needed his attention.
We had a very late flight home but was told we could stay in our rooms as long as needed and at no extra cost !!!!!!
Thankyou for a Great Holiday.
Carl & Louise
We will return....(but definitely not on Ryanair...)

Room Tip: C10 was the one we stayed in with great views

The thing that really sells this place is its gorgeous rooftop terrace. We stayed here for 3 nights in early September, and made full use of the terrace with stunning views; for breakfast, lunch and a bottle of wine or two in the evening.

The room is very basic but it works - we had a fridge and kettle, plates, cutlery, glasses etc so we could make our own food and eat on the terrace.

Definitely recommend it to other travellers.

We spent 10 days at Xenones, which is perfectly located in the centre of Lindos, with good access to shops and beach. Access to a rooftop terrace with a stunning view and a pretty courtyard, where our daughter could play with the cats.
There was always someone in the reception to help with questions. Air con very efficient and included in the price.
Andy kindly provided us with a spacious studio (2 'rooms' and a kitchen), which was very helpful, and a baby cot.
Thank you. We really enjoyed our time and recommend Xenones.

There are blocks A,B,C and D. A,B and C are next to each other. Block D is separate and further towards town.
In a very quiet location. Very clean. Air con included in price. free safe in room.
We stayed for 2 weeks and didn't have any issues. The communal terrace in Block B is lovely.
Staff are helpful and pleasant.

Room Tip: If i went again i would try for an upstairs room(with a view) possibly in Block B or C but there are...

We had a little problem in the booking, but the staff has been very helpful and fixed it the best way they could. We really appreciated that attitude, it's not that common when you travel.
The place is very nice, really close to the center of Lindos; the room is big enough and very clean. We really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed for 4 nights & was disappointed. The room was on the bottom floor & was very smelly from the drains & sewerage. The bathroom was very tiny.We only saw the owner once. The young girl who speaks english was helpful. It is difficult to find & i would suggest a meeting place maybe in the square & a trolley or scooter to assist tourists with their bags!!! Lindos is very beautiful & very hot from June.Beaches are gorgeous as are the restaurants for good food.Personally i would not return to this establishment.Beware of the alleys as they are very rocky & uneven not to great for the elderly to walk along.

Room Tip: Rooms on top level.

Dear Guests,

We would like to thank you for staying with us. We are sorry though to learn that we have not met your expectations and needs.

Let us underline the following, so that yourself and future guests are aware of:

1. In Lindos, balconies and high floors are strictly forbidden by the Archeological authorities. Hence the village is famous for the ground level apartments, sharing pebbled courtyards (built in a unique Lindian Architecture). Your room as the 95% of the village rooms located in the ground floor, with a huge outside terrace shared with 1 more studio. Your accommodation, featured a nice renovated bathroom, whereas your room is colorful. For sure you can find large rooms or suites in the modern hotels outside Lindos. Last a studio of 30sqm, can not be considered as small one. Of course comparing to an Australian / US hotel, it can be tiny. But not compared to Lindos accommodation or even London one.

2. Smells. We have pointed out several times and has been also mentioned in many forums, that there is serious problem in Lindos with the smells coming from the general village water system, smells that unfortunately some times (and depending on the wind direction) may influence the local houses, shops, restaurants and of course the accommodations (studios and apartments). We try our best to prevent this, but its not in our hands. The problem with the quality construction and operation of the village sewers are some times very important. The water system of the village is too old and in some case more than 60-70 years old and with out any renovation, for many practical reasons

3. As stated in our official web site and any partners of ours advertising our property, we are not a hotel and hence we are only maintaining a limited ours reception. This some times though goes up to 16hours per day, depending on our arrivals / departures etc.
In my case you saw me once, true. I go to my office at 9am and leaving 19-19.30 daily, whereas yourselves leaving everyday 7-8am to explore the island or spend your day in the beach and coming back 20-21pm. You understand that i will not expect to see you as iam just human working 10-12hours per day 350 days per year. My assistant Meggie replaces me though. Again if you are looking for 24/7 concierge or reception, you should have booked a 5 star hotel, paying 10 times more than what you paid. Of course we will not meet or carry the luggage of our guests, even if we do so, very often (7 to 10 times) just because we are being asked politely and with us being respected and not
"ordered". We are just 250m away from Parking B and its very easy to come to our property, with out any difficulty and for all of the ages. By the way we do offer free of charge two airport trolleys, that you could have used, providing that you will bring them back.

4. Lindos is rocky but at the same not. Depending how good you get to know it and if you have asked for assistance / info or not. The village is suitable for all the ages. Just need some attention / information and maybe homework. There so many more, even more difficult, famous (like Lindos) places on the planet.

Wish you all the best.

Kind regards,

Andy Efstathiou

Me and my partner have just returned from an amazing week staying at the lovely Xenones Lindos apartments.
If you are looking for a relaxing, friendly, picturesque place to visit, Lindos is the place to go. Beautiful weather, sandy beaches (which were never too busy) and clear blue water. Staying at Xenones was simply the icing on the cake.

The positives:
Location: simply put you couldn't ask for a better location in Lindos. The Xenones is about a 2 minute walk from the shops/bars/restaurants but when sitting on the roof top terrace, you could feel like you were the only people in the whole village. Some of the other accommodation located on the outskirts of the village looked really nice but the whole place is quite hilly and I don't think I would have liked the walk in and out every day.

Roof top terrace: we stayed in C12 which was directly below the roof top terrace which looked out over the beautiful village and out to the ocean. I must say I was slightly apprehensive before arriving about not having my own private balcony but it is spacious and in all honesty in the whole time we were there I think I only seen two other couples using the space and it was quite nice to have a chat over a glass of wine

Service: upon arrival we were given a lovely bottle of wine from Andy the owner who also told us the best places to eat and make our way around the island. Our kettle in the room didn't work and we just popped down and a replacement was with us in about 5 minutes.

I only have one negative which is a little personal to me and my partner with us both being extremely light sleepers. In our room the fridge was a little loud I don't know whether it might just need a quick service. Also as we were directly under the balcony in the morning, when it was cleaned and the furniture was moved the noise woke us up most days.

Regardless of the above I must say we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Lindos and I am extremely pleased with the choice we made in accommodation. Andy does state that this is not a 5 star hotel which is correct, the towels aren't changed every day but the apartments are extremely clean and the room was tidied each day. The light fuse did trip whilst we were at the apartments but there is certainly no need to worry about electric shocks! the trip was resolved within about 5 minutes with no fuss at all.

I am sure there are lovely 5 star hotels in the Lindos area but I would encourage anyone to give them a miss and stay here as I think it made us feel more at home and enjoy the charm and character that Lindos has to offer.

Usually we do not visit anywhere twice but I would certainly be tempted to return to Lindos for a relaxing break as I can honestly say I have never felt more at home in a European country, if we do come back we will be staying at Xenones so have the wine ready for us!!!!

Thanks to Andy and his staff for making this a great holiday!!!

Adam & Lisa
