We had a beautiful room with a view over a charming bay. The staff were out of this world.

This hotel was beautiful and in a lovely setting. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and everyone so friendly and professional. Really appreciated the beach towels to save suitcase space and having conditioner and a decent hairdryer provided as well as the usual. The beds were changed daily and someone came each night to bring fresh towels if needed and a couple of chocolates, We travelled with Thompson on honeymoon staying in a standard double which was modern, comfortable and spacious with a balcony, sea view and jacuzzi bath. When we arrived we had a fruit basket, bottle of champagne and tradtional pomegranate, honey and walnuts waiting for us. Although we weren't expecting entertainment, there were some enjoyable live musicians during the week during dinner - some singers and a saxophonist. The food was fantastic, we ate so much it hurt! After the breakfast (breads, cheeses, pastires, cakes, cereals, juices, fruits, yogurts, cooked breakfast with eggs cooked freshly however you liked) there was no need for lunch. Half board dinner was soup, followed by an enormous buffet with so much choice on a coice of hot or cold plate, then a choice of a vegetarian, meat of fish main course, then a good variety of desserts. Everything was well cooked, though sometimes the vegetables were slightly salty for my taste. The drinks were considerably more expensive than in the UK but we couldn't resist a cocktail every evening in the bar as the views were incredible. A bowl of crisps or nuts always arrived with the drinks. The outdoor pool was very cold. It was quite entertaining watching people deciding to go for a swim then change their mind. It was warmer in the sea. We used the small heated indoor pool late afternoon and generally had the place to ourselves. The bus into Lindos was very good and only took 5 minutes. We enjoyed the glass bottomed boat trip and the acropolis should not be missed. Some people did walk in to Lindos but there's no pavement and the traffic it pretty fast. If there's another couple at the bus stop, it works out cheaper to get a taxi together at about 5 Euros. We had a good deal with the Thompson rep to get a car for 90 Euros which was 3 days for the price of 2 and enjoyed a day in Rhodes, a trip to Prassionisi at the southern point where we watched the surfers and a drive to some of the towns and quiet beaches on the West coast.
A week in Lindos Blu is a real experience. The hotel has a very relaxing and seductive atmosphere, where couples can enjoy the peace and tranquility. Its quiet, modern and has a restaurant that offers top quality food to suit all preferences. The staff, superbly led by Dimitrius, are extremely helpful and everything you ask for is done with a smile.
The location is 2kms from Lindos (taxi or bus is needed as the walk is dangerous) and there are not many facilities close by. Everything you need is in the hotel. Built into the cliff face, the trip down to the beach, which is mostly shingle, is via 4 lifts from reception and then a steep walk down the road. Need to be fairly active if you want the beach.
Would definately go back.
Lindos Blu is a hotel that outperforms its appearance in brochures and websites. Beautifully-appointed & cleverly designed and with a view to die for....but even better, the staff are the most helpful and accommodating hotel personnel we've ever met. As our stay was fairly early in the season, the east-facing outlook was a little chilly at times (but I'm sure you'd be grateful for this in high season!)
Just returned from the Lindos Blu on 12/05. Weather a little unsettled but was told by taxi driver this should be the last week then things really start to warm up. We flew with Ryanair (first time and had no probs.) and booked the hotel with Olympic holidays. The hotel is perfect for couples, very modern and contemperary with lots of white and cream walls, frosted glass and chrome . If you are looking for somewhere to just chill out, relax and recharge the batteries this is the place to go, adults only so no noisy pool games or music. The staff are excellent from reception to maids, nothing was to much trouble. Breakfast is the usual buffet style but at this hotel the food just seemed to be of a higher quality, eggs cooked to order, pancakes and waffles freshly made and an excellent selection of cereals and fruit on offer. The views from the breakfast restaurant are stunning. The standard double rooms are the normal hotel size but have a kingsize bed, a kettle with tea and coffee provided, a mini-bar which we used as a fridge, a hairdrier and plenty of wardrobe space. The bathrooms are a little bit special with modern fittings, a walk in shower, a jacuzzi bath that has an electric screen that you can raise and look out across your room to the fantastic view of Vlicha bay. We were told that all the rooms(only 70) have sea views as the hotel has been very cleverly built into the side of a cliff. There are 2 pools one slightly bigger than the other, the top pool providing a bar service and the lunch area. To get from reception to the lower floor rooms you have to use 3 lifts but this was`nt a problem and you soon get used to it. To get to the beach there is one more lift and then a 2 minute downhill walk. There are a couple of bars and restaurants within walking distance along the beach road . The village of Lindos is walkable but along the edge of a busy road with no pavement. The cost by taxi (just ask at reception) is 8 euros down to the main square and 6 euros back to the hotel. Lindos has some great restaurants and bars and the walk to the top of the acropolis is well worth the effort. Would we go back to this hotel ? yes, without any hesitation and hope to do so very soon.
We stayed here for a week in May and were more than happy with everything this hotel has to offer. It has a minimalist style with amazing views over the bay from the bar, restaurants & rooms.
Breakfast is a laid back affair from served up until 11am, with everything you could possibly require - and no extra charge for cappuccino or espresso!
Dining is a true gourmet affair in the Five Senses restaurant - I highly recommend the lobster evening, and there's an extensive buffet or a la carte dining available in the main restaurant.
Prices are on the high side but the food and service are excellent. Drinks in the hotel bar are about 8 euros for a cocktail, and coffee by the pool about 4 euros. To offset this we also ate in Lindos, in some of the lovely bars and tavernas. Lindos is a beautiful town, with white washed buildings and plenty of shops to mooch around. The imposing Acropolis overlooks the town & is certainly worth a visit - on foot or by donkey for the less active!
The hotel rooms are spacious & comfortable with a window & blind dividing bedroom from bathroom - it's obviously designed for couples rather than friends. You can actually see the sea view from the loo if you leave the door open & blind up!
The only negative I can think of is location. The Lindos Blu is about 2 miles from the town. We walked along the road a few times but there are no pavements so it's certainly not recommended after dark - or in the high summer temperatures. A return taxi costs 14 euros. If you like exploring I would definately recommend hiring a car. Also the hotel is built on a hillside so be prepared for some steps unless you want to wait for lifts all the time.
Definately 5 star - you get what you pay for!
