“Fascinating town, comfortable hotel.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2013

This was the last stop on our budget, whistle stop tour of Northern Spain. The rooms were large, comfortable and very well appointed - apart from the bathroom which was cramped and tiny. The food was very good value both in the restaurant and coffee bar. The staff helpful and the location close to the town centre. Jaca is a charming town and the fort well worth seeing. However, the museum, part of the cathedral is stunning. It contains primitive frescoes taken from surrounding churches and wonderfully displayed. Perhaps the highlight of our trip.

Nice spacious room, clean updated bathroom. Located close to local attractions and an easy walk...3 to 5 minutes. Staff was helpful. Parking in adjacent garage. Good base for exploring nearby Pyrenees. Substantial breakfast.

We stayed here for 4 days around the Quebrantahuesos race - and its location was perfect just down the road from the lovely town of Jaca and its cathedral. Panchos Bar in the main square was a great haunt and the Tapas, Gin Kas cocktails and Villarica Rioja were superb (no, really it was a cycling trip...).

The hotel was very clean and well laid out, but we were on the lower floor at the front and it could get noisy at night with late revellers, and even a herd of sheep being driven down the road at 5am. This lead to slightly disrupted sleep, though friends on the back side of the hotel had to put up with music from a funfair that ran till late.

The swimming pool was very fresh (18C) which took some getting used to and might put off children but after a hot day cycling was perfect.

Breakfast was OK but we tended to eat out in any case because of th e quality of the local restaurants - a double room came in at 56 euros so pretty good value.

We stayed a couple of nights at the Oroel, using Jaca as a base for some rambling in the Pyrenees. The hotel is just 3 minutes' walk from the very attractive centre of the old town. The hotel facilities are plain but pleasant, the room itself very comfortable. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

The cafeteria/bar offers the perfect light breakfast (with fresh squeezed orange juice). The great surprise was the hotel restaurant. I'd never have noticed the entrance, tucked discreetly into a corridor, but I found it recommended online so we tried it our last night. It's an arroceria, specialising in rice dishes of every sort from paella Valenciana to Italian risottos (although they serve other kinds of food too). We started with a most elegant and perfectly delicious dish of seasonal asparagus, then shared a mouth-watering arroz with rabbit, herbs and artichokes baked in an earthenware dish. It was so good we begged for the leftovers to take back with us to Catalonia the next day, and if possible they were even better second time round. There was a lovely list of very reasonably priced Aragonese red wines too.

A large corporate hotel with many amenities. I had a 2-night stay in a well-designed, modern, comfortable top-floor apartment with a view over the town, ideal for an independent traveller. Extra pillows & blankets were provided. I tried out the breakfast buffet, which was lavish, varied & good value at €9.20, though I could have done with another cup of the excellent coffee. The hotel is conveniently situated near the attractive old town & though I had little contact with the personnel they were polite & efficient. Near-luxury at a bargain price.

Recently stayed for two nights, got a reasonable rate without breakfast and stayed in a spacious attic room which consisted of a sitting area. Confortable bed, and decent sized bathroon. No balcony but a very good view through the attic window! We had breakfast in the cafe at the hotel as it was competitively priced. The swimming pool was clean and with sun beds available. Would recommend as a decent base for exploring Jaca.

No much view of windows - it's on the main street. There is no much parking on the street, so we used the hotel parking which was ok but not accessible for wheel chair. THere is an elevator but there are steps in the parking in the way to the elevator.
