“Good food and service but misleading menu”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2011

We wanted to order from the "MENÚ ESPECIAL PARA TURISTAS" that was 12 euros per person, but the menu was misleading, so we ended up ordering another menu that is double that price (24,5 euros/person). Not the type of surprise you wnat when you ask for the check!

The food, however, was great. I speacially enjoyed the "revuelto" I had for first course. For second course, we had pork and goat (Solomillo de Cerdo Ibérico,Chuletas de Cordero e
Churrasquito de Cordero) and all were quite good.

For desert, almost no options of fruit (orange only). We had "Repápalos con Leche" which we did not enjoy much and "Leche Frita" which was very good.

The service was excellent, acomodating all our special requests and even antecipating some...

The restaurant is at a good location, next to the "Templo de Diana" and near all other tourist attractions in Merida.

You can check their menu at their website and if you change your mind when you arrive, you have other restaurants nearby. If you do go with this one, be careful when ordering from the menu and make sure you order what you actually want.

“Good food, reasonable prices, good atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2010

Our first dinner in Spain so we were newbies at the whole Spanish menu thing. Muddled through with an English menu which was mysteriously much different to the Spanish one but the food was good. Garlic soup, Iberico ham plate, grilled vegies for starters were all nice. Mains were more standard sort of fare - meat and chips being the general theme. A theme we found repeated through Spain and Portugal. The owner was very engaging, despite a lack of a common language. Walls are full of art. Had a good night in pleasant surrounds.

“Attention to the client.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2010

I had the "Menu del Dia" and was very pleased with it. The restaurant itself is a lovely old house from the 15th century. The host and owner is a genial gentleman who makes the customer welcome. The food is exceptional, (I had the albondigas or Spanish meatballs and a nice hot soup to start). The meal was delicious, substantial, piping hot, and well prepared at a reasonable price. There is an agreeable non-smoking area, and, unlike so many others, it is unaffected by the bad air from the smoking part of the restaurant. To top it off, the waiter was attentive and friendly, which is not always the case in Spain. The combination of ambiance and delicious food makes this a wonderful choice for dining in Merida.
