“Great Location!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2013

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 1 night during the theater festival. The location is really perfect, about 10 minutes walking from the train station and less than that from the Roman ruins. The room was very simple (remember this is a 2 star hotel) but clean, and so was the bathroom. Air con worked well and this was crucial (nearby pharmacy thermometer was showing 45 degrees Celsius around 5 PM). Good value and not bad for a very short stay.

Basic but clean and friendly 2* with easy walking distance of the many historical sights located in this amazing city. Air-con, tv and wi-fi all worked perfectly, the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was nicely finished. The cheap hotel parking was only a few minutes walk and seemed very secure. We enjoyed our visit to Merida and the Cervantes and would recommend it to others.

Room Tip: Keep away from the lift and stair well.

As this was a 2* hotel I was a little sceptical. However, nice welcoming reception staff. Nice clean room with lovely bathroom. Wardrobe doors very dark but the rest of the decor was cleverly done. There is secure parking a short distance away - which we were very happy with. It was not a room with a view but we were in for a treat when we went out to explore. The romans have certainly left their mark in Merida and it's great that so much is still around for us to see. The hotel is very central and I would certainly recommend it.

Room Tip: Don't know.

Hotel has great location - within walking distance of all the Roman and Moorish ruins. Did not realise that this City was so significant for the Roman Empire and found the environs very interesting.
The Hotel itself was clean and comfortable, the Reception area very modern and welcoming.
The breakfast, however, was dyer, so dont purchase it - go somewhere else - there are plenty of places nearby to eat. The only good thing about it was the freshly squeezed orange juice. A half sliced piece of bagette and a cup of tea is not my idea of a breakfast.
Otherwise it is fine for a stopover on a sightseeing tour.

Hotel was centrally located and the staff was helpful. The notes about the parking here are good pointers as it is a bit tricky, but very secure. Might have been hard to navigate in an SUV rather than our subcompact, so be warned. Room was simple and adequate and value OK overall. Hotel restaurant has great croissants!

Unlike the other reviewers we were not impressed by this hotel. The location was very handy for Merida town centre and the Roman monuments and the staff were very helpful and friendly, although they spoke no English. There was secure parking nearby - but beware the Parking Cervantes behind the hotel is nothing to do with it - their parking is round the corner under another building! The bad points, the room was small and dingy, it had seen better days, and there were few facilities, no fridge, no lounge for guests etc. On this trip we have stayed in hotels in Leon, Salamanca (the parador), Segovia and Toledo, all about the same price and all much better, newer, more spacious, more comforts. So there was nothing really wrong with Cervantes, it just was nowhere near as good as anywhere else we stayed - so not good VFM.

Located in the city center of Merida, close to all shopping streets and ten minutes to the main square. The room was quiet and big enough in traditional style. The bathroom was small but with very nice tiles and even a small bath tub.
The bicycles were kept in a garage, which is 5 minutes walking distance.
