Owner description: The Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art Foundation, in Jerez de la Frontera, is famous all over the world for its show called "How the Andalusian Horses Dance", a unique exhibition of horsemanship which both exhibits and summarises the work which the institution has carried out since its establishment. Although the show "How the Andalusian Horses Dance" may be considered the highest attainment of the School's work, there are other aspects which are regarded as equally, or even more important, for the Institution. Among these, we would like to highlight its role as a social and cultural vehicle for our equestrian heritage, the selection and promotion of horses, the training of Haute Ecole riders, the preservation and promotion of Classical and Country Dressage (Doma Vaquera), maintaining the prestige of our horsemanship, the breed of our Spanish horses, our traditions and culture. Furthermore, the show enables the Royal School to play host for the Province of Cadiz and to act as ambassadors abroad on annual tours to various foreign countries. In addition to the show, you might enjoy a visit to our training facilities as well as the Museum of Equestrian Art and the Carriage Museum.

“Excellent show but we wonder about the horses”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

Excellent show but we wonder if the horses enjoy it as much as the spectators, as they were kicked all the time to do the tricks...
Beautiful well maintained garden.

“Worth a visit.”
Reviewed October 21, 2013

Make two trips if you can. Visit the horses (restricted access). The museum and, grounds. The evening display is wonderful. They ask you not, to take photos but, many people still did and,it was very annoying trying to watch the performance with constant camera flashes going off.

“Interesting - but not sure how much the horses enjoy it!”
Reviewed October 18, 2013

A spectacular show with the well-schooled horses performing tricks & manoeuvres to music. The horses & their riders are immaculately turned out & the riders must be some of the best in Spain, but we couldn't help wondering whether the horses wouldn't rather be running free in fields...? The school itself is a beautiful building in a lovely park with a chateau (not open to the public when we were there)

“A must for horse lovers!”
Reviewed October 17, 2013

We didn't go to the show but went for a visit and tour. You can watch the training sessions, there are tours going on around the stables and it's great to get up close to the horses who are beautiful. We did run out of time, there is so much to see, museum, tack rooms, house & coach museum as well as the stables & training in the indoor & outdoor area's. The coach museum is some way away and not well signposted and so nearly didn't make it. A wonderful visit I shall never forget just wish we had had a little more time as all closed at 2pm.

“Excellent - just a bit long”
Reviewed October 13, 2013

The Andalusian Royal Equestrian School in Jerez puts on a great show and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It's just a bit long, running 90 minutes including the 15 minute intermission. We would have preferred it to last no more than an hour.
Getting a front row seat makes a big difference here because often the horses go right along the rail and then you can lean over and see that part of the show too.
Very nice to see a female rider among all the men this time.
