We had extremely high expectations for this hotel, as longtime users of Tripadvisor and we had never seen such an outstanding review structure as the Casa Grande's. Honestly, if our expectations hadn't been this high, we would have probably rated this hotel 'very good' instead of 'average'.
The service was truly excellent. We could discuss with the hotel to send us a driver to bring us to the hotel from Sevilla (at a very reasonable price) as all transportation was blocked due to the general strike. We very much appreciated this. The hotel is a nice old building transformed into a guest house. There was a nice community room with a chimney place, books and games which gave the hotel a cosy atmosphere.
Our room itself however was rather basic and deceiving. It had average, old furniture and a window overlooking the indoor courtyard (ie. dark, people could see in and we couldn't leave the window open for the night or the day). We felt that the daily night rate (95 eur/ night) was exaggerated for a guest room in Jerez with no breakfast included.
Otherwise this was a nice, charming hotel with a very good service.More
