“Not so special”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

The exterior of the Jerez cathedral does not really stand for the interior. The exterior is a kind of special, interior is a bit boring, in spite of some added exhibitions. The lights do not all work properly, so that not all side altars are properly visible. Too bad, because Jerez is quite a nice town.

“Grandness and intricacy in its architecture”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

The cathedral has obvious moorish influences blended with Christian grandness. The central dome is impressive along with the intricate stone carving in the roof. There are displays of silver and artworks and an orange grove tucked behind the east end.

“Don't judge a book by its cover”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

The outside of the cathedral has grass growing out of various places but inside is very nice. Not as good as Malaga cathedral.

“Echoing.”
Reviewed November 18, 2012

Echoing, in many ways. Echoes of better times; when we visited for Sunday mass, the congregation was maybe 50, in a space that will fit thousands. The good news is that the local movement to have a bishop in Jerez, started in 1580, achieved it's aim in1980! Hey, we think in centuries, and this cathedral is a lovely example of people thinking for the long term.

“Small but fantastic”
Reviewed October 25, 2012

A small cathedral but fantastic stone work, we went two hours before it closed 4pm very few people there which made the experience more enjoyable. You only need 1 to 2 hour to look round so well worth making the time to fit it in.
