We have just returned from a 3 night golfing break. Fantastic value for money - 3 nights B&B with unlimited golf for £115. Our room overlooked the swimming pool and golf course and was very clean, with a very large comfortable bed and choice of pillows. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble - they even arranged for a mechanic to visit and change the car battery! The buffet breakfast was excellent - a vast choice. We ate in the hotel 2 nights - €25 a head including wine and water. Again there was a great deal of choice with the dishes being replenished quickly. The waiters were also very attentive. Will definately return and recommend, especially if you're a golfer. The course was in excellent condition and very enjoyable. My only criticism would be the price of buggies - €48. For non-golfers there was a spa which looked very good, but we didn't use the facilities.

Room Tip: Up grade to a golf course view room.

Eight of us returned for another week of golf after last years excellent trip and settled down for another great week within minutes. Weather great every day, the course was in really good condition. Played away at Arcos Gardens ( really really tricky greens to read!!) and Sherry for a change. A couple of us stayed on fir the final round of the World Super Bikes at the adjacent race track over the weekend which was fantastic - so convenient to be able to just walk down the road and in through the main gate. Staff were as friendly as ever and good choice of food with plenty of different fish dishes.

Needing a one night business hotel in this part of Jerez, was extremely disappointed with the Montecastillo experience, despite a fair last minute web booking price. Until arrival, with the smirkingly abrupt receptionist telling us, only then was it clear that there is the Resort/Gold Hotel - and 600 metres away up a steep hill is a 1970s type British tour operators Spanish hotel monstrosity nowhere near the standard of the main hotel. we were one of 3 couples in this echoing empty dusty building, with a long haul back to find any food, drink or the "many pools". Probably a deliberate mis-description by Bookings.com, but still an unnecessary deception. Just one night, OK; but if booking for any sort of holiday, pay the bigger price and insist on the 'real' hotel. Jerez itself remains a fine old heritage city, with great restaurants - and a fine race circuit - enjoy those bits - and avoid dodgy web booking practices!

Back here for the second year running. You can great great deals if you shop around. Close to the city of Jerez and absolutely great value. Even dinner in the restaurant is only 25 euros including half a bottle of wine.

Be warned though.... Its not a walking course

Room Tip: Pay the extra and upgrade to an apartment
