“A surprise and a Treat”
Reviewed October 11, 2013 via mobile

Coming off a highway and selecting an "easy-in, easy-out" restaurant that looks promising can be a crap shoot. This is not. While a bit noisy between a side room and the crowd of locals dining al fresco, the overall experience was terrific. Great sized portions (gambas al ajo as an appetizer was incredible) and well-priced for the quality and quantity of food. Masterful service even with the large crowd. Can't believe how lucky this arbitrary stop was!

Great food in a very relaxed restaurant. Would go back in flash. Would suit couples or large groups of friends. Excellent wine list :-)

“Excellent place”

Very good food, decent service, but a bit on the expensive side for the area. The ham is very good, we loved the croquetas, all in all we recommend...

“Great prices, good food”
Reviewed September 17, 2013

Recommended by our hotel, Villa Jerez, we stopped to eat here before jumping on the autoway to Malaga. From the outside it did not appear remarkable, and the inside was fairly nondescript as well. The menu and the service, however, were superb! Just about everything on the menu, which consisted primarily of fish, sounded great. I had the grilled swordfish and my wife had monkfish, and they were both huge portions of fish at a very reasonable price. The waiter allowed us to taste multiple glasses of sherry and wine to find the ones that we really liked. The location is just off the A? between Sevilla and Cadiz, so it is on the far outskirts of Jerez. Conveniently located next to a petrol station so you can gas up before heading off to your next destination.

“Esta bueno!”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

We ate at Venta Estaban twice in a week and we were happy to go back as it is very good. There is a nice atmosphere with plenty of outdoor seating but the place doesn't start filling up til maybe 10 or 11 pm as you'd expect. Venta Estaban is in an out-of-town location but it suited us as it was very close to where we stayed at Casa Vina de Alcantara. Dishes were very well prepared and presented. We particularly enjoyed the seafood stuffed peppers and the prawns 'from the bay'. Roast leg of lamb was delicious and very tender. Prices were very reasonable with the bill for each meal coming to around €60 or less for 2 including drinks. Service was good and prompt and there are always plenty of staff on hand.
