Wanted to see some authentic flamenco and came to the right place. €10 each every 2 weeks on a Friday. An amazing setting outdoors in the old palace grounds. Great dancer and singers and an incredible guitarist.
Parking easy just around the corner underground.
Bar for drinks and snacks

This is an old fortress and especially the irrigation system and baths were interessing. The mosque inside is very small and basic. The exposition was not that interesting. For me it could do without. Entrance is €5,00. It is more basic and not to compare with the alcazar in seville. Still a nice place to visit.

We were in Jerez to see the Flamenco Institute. It closed at 2 so we had time before we needed to return to Cadiz. We walked past the cathedral and went to the Alcazar. At the time (in May 2014) the entrance was being worked on so we walked all the way around before we noticed how to get in.

There are many areas of the site to see. They have a pharmacy upstairs. The grounds are interesting too. Many of the places have been excavated to show their original use. They have a massive press for making olive oil.

There was a small fee, about 5 euros as I recall.

We were in Jerez planning to visit a bodega but had arrived early with time to spare. As the Alcazar was right next to the bodega it seemed a good option. On arrival it transpired that there is free entry on a Monday morning! A nice surprise. It was also very quiet, so we were able to wander around, explore and soak up the atmosphere almost on our own. Certainly worth a visit.
