The Sandeman Winery - Sherry Wine - is tucked away in the heart of Jerez de la Frontera and is incredibly hard to find. There are road signs to "Sandeman" but you are dropped at the next roundabout or junction. Local maps are not a lot of help as they misrepresent the junctions/roundabouts and give no indication of the direction of the myriad one-way streets. The winery is actually right next to the famous Spanish Riding School (Real Escuela Andaluza del Arte Ecuestre) which is also well worth a visit.
There are tours throughout the day - with English language tours 3 or 4 times a day. Our guide - Alice dressed in Sandeman logo 'Cape and Hat' - had excellent English and was clearly very knowledgeable about the winery and the different sherries and their "manufacture". The parts of the winery that we saw were spotlessly clean and very photogenic.
There are three types of tour (with different prices) - one with a three-sherry tasting at the end - one with a three-vintage-sherry tasting and another with sherry and brandy tasting. All tastings are accompanied by some crisps and bread-sticks.
BEWARE, however, of the offer - at additional cost - of "tapas" with your tasting. At Euros7.50 pp and consisting of a few slices of ham and cheese, it was a real tourist rip-off and spoiled the end of the visit. A real shame as the rest of the visit was most interesting!

This was a pleasant trip around House of Sandeman sherry cellar at only €7.50. The guide was very eloquent and informative. The tour was very short though, but the tasting was good, with 3 x 5cl glasses. Although we didn't partake, the optional tapas looked very poor value @ €7.50 extra.

This is a place where they mature their wine. It has a large storage facility. It has free tours or you can visit the place on your own. Photography with flash is allowed inside.

After the visit, there is also a free wine tasting after which you can proceed to purchase the wines. The wines sold are not expensive!

If you are in Jerez and have no other events or activities, it is worthy to visit a bodega, at least one and at least once. I guess one is as good as the other. The tour consists of a simple walk through some of the buildings of the winery and a clear explanation of how many types of sherry they make, which was interesting. When you buy your tour tickets don´t get the tapas. We were charged one more euro for a flamenco show, which turned out to be wonderful, even better than the tour, and even more authentic than any of the flamenco shows we had seen thus far in Andalusia. They have a great store to buy sherry and olives.

We had the tour plus tasting 4 of the 20 year sherries - this costs 14 Euros and is excellent value - the 4 sherries cover the range well and are decent measures. (I did despair when I read the review saying that 7 Euros for a tour and 3 sherries is not great value - sometimes you just can't win)
The tour was very informative and moved along at a good pace - if you want to get into detail about any parts of the process you can ask your guide during your tasting.
Easily reachable from the centre of Jerez and very customer friendly.
