The food rates four or five stars, but it is substantially overpriced. You can expect a nickel-and-dime approach right down to a two-dollar charge (per person) for the bread on the table. The service also came with an attitude. Good food, but the restaurant exudes exclusivity that it cannot quite pull off on its merit alone. Many better choices in Caceres.

This old, family-run restaurant has been established in Caceres for decades - see the photos adorning the walls.
Started with a glass of Manzanilla, and then shared a first course of 'Criadillas de Tierra a la crema': a kind of truffle, cooked in a gratin dish with cream and garlic. (Delicious, very filling so sharing is good).
I had sea bass that had been cooked with a salt crust, which was perfect.
My friend had a hefty portion of venison, which she declared as fantastic, and the veg were delicious.
We wanted local wine, and went with the recommended Payva Cayetana.
Finished with The Best cup of coffee I had during my w/e visit.
