“Something for everyone”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 10, 2013

This is a great little museum, set out in chronological order. In a separate building connected by a walkway over a lane an art gallery is housed. The art gallery had a wide range of paintings, some of them seemed to be on loan from the Prado, together with modern Spanish painters including Picasso & Miro. However the highlight of the museum was in the basement, the moorish cistern.

“Exquisite little museum and gallery.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 12, 2012

This is well worth a visit, a small and easily accessible museum, with an interesting and well presented collection. The art gallery includes some Picasso drawing, a Miro, and several other well known Spanish modern art pieces.

“Great Little Museum - free entry”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2012

A very interesting collection dating back to pre Christian times. Its small, well laid out, is free and best of all the Roman Cistern is seen at the end of the visit. Well worth a visit. It takes less than 30 minutes to see.

“Fascinating historical record of the town”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2012

A fascinating collection of artefacts, mostly of pre-historic and Roman eras. Many, many inscribed tombstones providing an insight into some of the people who lived/died here some 2000yrs ago.

In the bowels of the Museum is the Moorish Cistern, which appears still to be perfectly functional.

Admission is free, and it is closed on Mondays. Not to be missed!
