“Modern clean hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 22, 2009

Stayed here in May 09. Agree with other reviewers. Modern clean hotel with friendly staff. We got upgraded to a better room as my husband is a Priority Club card holder. Very large bed and very large bathroom. Breakfast was good, but perhaps not up to the standard of other Crowne Plaza hotels we have stayed at, but it was only 12 euros. The srambled eggs were dissapointing but they did cook some fried eggs for us. We ate in the restaurant one evening, it was pretty good for for a buffet for 20 euros. I think it is fine to stay here for one or two nights, but as there is absolutely nothing to do in the vicinty, it means you have to catch the train to Venice every time you want to go out. It is 6 euros for a return journey. Nearly had a prolem when they said there was a train strike the day we had to leave to go to Verona, but in the end the trains turned up on time.
Venice is an expensive place to shop, eat etc. We paid one euro 50 cents just to use the toilet and we had a tea and a beer in St Marks Sq and it cost 22 euros!! However, there are cheaper places to eat the further you go from St Marks Sq.

Everything you'd expect from a crown plaza- very nice rooms, clean, helpful multi-lingual staff. Plus it was only a 30 minute train ride into Venice, which was perfect for us.
Their airport shuttle also works very well. Really no problems at all besides a train door not working (not the hotel's fault obviously) =)
We stayed there around May 1, 2009 and will stay there again if we ever go back to Venice in the future.

We spent 4 night for Easter break. Free transfer from Marco Polo airport (15 minutes). Nice, large family room (club). Dinner at the only restaurant was pretty good. Breakfast was also good, not extensive range , but good varity of nice things. You have to be careful about train timetable, it does take anything between 25 and 50 minutes depending on when you leave, most days there is no train between 11 AM and 1PM. All in all very pleasant stay. Lovely Venice (not at all cheap !!!).

We were a bit concerned with the distance from the main islands, but it was an easy commute 25min train and the station is literally 1min from the hotel.

The hotel itself is great, clean, spacious, modern and the staff are friendly.
Very recommended.

This really is a lovely hotel. The staff are lovely, food is lovely and rooms are lovely. The only problem with the hotel is it is a bit too far away from Venice. The hotel is right beside the train station and that is great but it is about a 20 minute journey.

There is absolutely nothing around the hotel, it is completely residential. You will need to walk about 20 minutes to get to a shop!

The problem we found with the hotel being so far away was it basically meant getting up in the morning and being ready to stay out all day. Coming back to the hotel to have a shower and a change of clothes after a long days sightseeing before dinner and drinks is just not an option when you are so far away.

Overall it is a nice hotel but I wouldn't stay here again if I was to go back to Venice. The hotel is just too far away from the centre and it really limits what you can do with your days in Venice.

My family and I recently visited Venice, Italy and after reading the reviews from Tripadvisor, decided to stay at the Crowne Plaza hotel. We were very pleased with the excellent service and extremely nice rooms that we would definately consider this hotel if and when we go back to Venice, Italy again. We arranged for the hotel to pick us up at the airport, which we found easy and convienent. The front desk staff was helpful in providing tickets for the train station, which is right behind the hotel. We were also impressed with the morning breakfast, which was loaded with pastries, eggs, cereal, fruit, meat, desserts, and an array of drinks. If you are looking into a vacation to Venice, I would highly recommend using this hotel even though it is outside of Venice. The price is well worth it and the train ride into Venice has beautiful scenery and was reasonable. *Hint: The front desk wil give you free tickets if you mention seeing their official website.*

I booked this hotel for 16 people who were coming in early for a cruise. I selected this hotel based on reviews and comments from those staying here before. I found the hotel to be very nice and in a good location. The rooms were modern and quite spacious compared to other hotels in europe.

The Lobby and waiting areas were quite nice and the elevators were functional and in good repair. The staff spoke little english and were hard to communicate with except for Alberto.

I adored Alberto's professionalism and great service. He was very helpful and patient with me and the other fifteen people I brought with me.

The train station is a short walk behind the hotel and Venice is easily accessible. Alberto arranged shuttle service for all of us who preferred to travel by van to the cruise ship.

I must say that although the train is near, I would not reccommend a train for those traveling with large luggage and those who are physically challenged. The hotel offers shuttle service to and from the airport if requested in advance.

If you are physically challenged it is better if you request a shuttle or taxi for getting around instead of the train.

I noticed that the streets are uneven and you really need good solid shoes for walking anywhere in Venice, and the surrounding areas. I also notice the lack of hand rails on stairs and other areas throughout Europe.

If you are going on a cruise and can afford to stay in Venice, I suggest you do that to be closer to the ship yard. You have various modes of transportaion available to you however and this hotel is a good place to stay.

Check out taxi's and shuttle services as well as the water taxis and train service that can take you to Venice straight from the Marco Polo Airport. If there are many in your group, the cost can be shared.

I loved the Hotel, the location and the service I received from Alberto.
