“Fantastic Hotel”

My husband and I are just back from spending 3 nights at this hotel, we had a lovely stay, All the staff are really helpful and will go that extra mile to make your stay enjoyable. There is a free shuttle to the train station which is an extra 30min journey into Venice which is brilliant, they give you the times of the trains and how to use them ( again very helpful ). Rooms are roomy, very clean, modern, fitted with air con and have a balcony. Breakfast is buffet style and very tasty, they really set you up for the day. They have a restaurant just a few metres from the hotel which serves lovely food. There is a swimming pool which is more like a giant paddling pool but still great. All in all it is a lovely hotel, it may be further away from Venice but then I first thought. But I would highly recommend to everyone.

My boyfriend and I have just got back from a lovely week in Venice. We stayed at Park hotel (who pick you up from the airport for 35 euros). It's a 5 minute drive (by free shuttle daily) to the train station and then a 20 minute train into Venice. Only problem was a busy times we had to wait up to 20 mins to be picked up. It was far enough from the hustle and bustle of Venice to relax but convenient enough for a few tourist days too.

The pool was the only let down as its only a paddling pool in the grounds, other than that it was a lovely stay. We used the hotel bikes for a fun few hours too. The grounds themselves are small but lovely and it was brilliant having a balcony to sit out on. We were lucky enough to have a balcony that caught the sun for most of the day (as the balconies the other side were in the shade), but unfortunately there were roadworks on the road next to the hotel every weekday we had to listen to when sunbathing.

There's not much to do around the hotel for food/drinks but the hotel restaurant was nice enough. The staff were very accommodating, especially Francesca who was lovely. Had a few problems with the air con but that was sorted after a few days. The hotel has wifi but its only available in the lobby downstairs, would have liked to have been able to use it in our room too.

Our favourite thing about this hotel was the breakfast, which consisted of a huge buffet every day with a variety of pastries, cakes, a lovely selection of hot and cold meats and fruit. This kept us going for a good few hours and the lovely waitress was nice enough to allow us to take food back to our room for lunch too.

The deluxe room was a good size and the bed was massive! Lovely door onto the balcony and cleaned/tidied daily.

Overall, we'd probably give the hotel a 3.5/4 out of 5.

My husband and I stayed here over the bank holiday weekend and were aware of its location off the beaten track so there were no surprises when we attempted to make our way to the hotel from Marco Polo Airport.

The hotel offers a free shuttle service to and from the nearest station - Quarto D'Altino (about 7-8 mins away). This is very handy and leaves at certain allocated times throughout the day to correlate with the train departures to Venizia Santa Lucia (Venice's main central station). You can use this shuttle outside of the allocated times but it will cost you 2 euros. Simply tell the hotel when you intend on returning and they will pick you up - as late as 11pm.

The shuttle holds only 4 people so bear this in mind as you will need to book in advance each day.

You can purchase train tickets from the hotel reception (3 euros each way from Quarto D'Altino to Venizia Santa Lucia). Make sure you validate your ticket in the machine on the platform - stick it in the machine, keep it to the left and the machine will punch a hole in your ticket to validate it).

Getting to the hotel from Marco Polo airport is simple. From within the airport, purchase a bus ticket to Le Mestre - this is about 6 euros per person and about 25 mins away. Once at Le Mestre bus station, walk across the road to Le Mestre train station and purchase a ticket to Quarto D'Altino (3 euros one way) - the journey takes about 6 mins and from Quarto D'Altino, call the hotel to arrange a pick up. Bear in mind that they pick up from the car park outside the station - opposite Crown Plaza hotel.

The hotel itself is not as I imagined it would look from the photos. It is a bit underwhelming but still nice.

The restaurant is not within the hotel - it is a short walk away.

The reception staff are all very friendly and helpful (especially Barbara).

Wifi only works in the lobby which is a shame - and you need to obtain a daily receipt per device for the wifi code.

The breakfast room is lovely! And the breakfast itself is AMAZING!!!! Freshly baked pastries and bread daily!

The only disappointment with our stay was the room - clearly the website only advertises photos of the suites and superior room so we were under the impression that all rooms would look like those in the photos. However, we were disappointed to note that the room was old (and smelly!) and in need of serious redecorating - the bathroom was particularly dated with cracks and burn marks in the basin and mirror). My advice would be to pay the extra and get an upgrade - I hear that the upgraded rooms are like an entirely different hotel and worth the extra cost!

Also, whilst the staff are friendly and helpful - a little more attentiveness would not have gone amiss! For e.g., the staff were aware that my husband and I had chosen to spend our wedding anniversary at the hotel but did nothing to acknowledge this or compliment its service. Whilst we weren't expecting a grande affair - a small gesture to mark the occasion would have made the world of difference.

The fridge in the room (well at least the basic room on the ground floor) does not work effectively. Also, there is only one spare socket and you may struggle to use standard converters in these without a struggle!

On Venice generally, I'd recommend getting the water bus (vaperetto) to Lido from outside Venezia station - it's 7 euros each way. Lido has an average but spacious beach. Rialto and San Marco are a must see!

Gondola rides are very expensive (80 euros for 30 mins). For an inexpensive gondola experience - I'd recommend a Treghetto (2 euros across the canal).

F30 restaurant on the other side of Venezia station is really nice - and has some great affordable wines and cocktails!

Generally, a good stay!

Room Tip: Pay the extra and get an upgrade!

I'm sure when the hotel was built a 4 star mark would have been justified unfortunately 20 years on not so much. The hotel was very dated and although the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant they definitely emplioyed a very good photographer to take the photos for their website. The 'swiming pool' is a large paddling pool, but the pictures on their site do not show this. Their website claims 'recently renovated' what they fail to mention is that this renovation is a working progress, if you end up in standard room you are in the unrenovated part. The 'free shuttle service to the train station' is only free if you go at set times which is not mentioned on their website. On our last day we needed to leave the hotel at 8.15, the 'free shuttle; normally leaves at 8.30 so we were charged for this depsite having confirmed it the night before. Also on our first day we were told some of the 'free shuttle' time slots were very full so we would have to go later! 'In just 15 minutes you can reach Venice' their website states, not really, the shuttle leaves the hotel 30 minutes before the train arrives so add another 30 minutes on to the 15 minutes at least!! Venice is stunning just stay in Venice!
Trip advisor for first time let us down with their recommendations for this hotel, Venice is an amazing city and although if this hotel was in Venice you would be very impressed it wasn't so its standards need to be a lot hire to justify it being so far away in a partly renovated hotel, with an occasionally free shuttle and a giant paddling pool!

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for our first wedding anniversary and we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel itself is really pretty and the gardens are absolutely beautiful! We sat outside to eat our breakfast a couple of times and it was really lovely and quiet. We also sat outside and enjoyed some drinks on a couple of evenings. The staff were really friendly and always available to answer any questions we had. You can also buy the train tickets into Venice from them which is really good. We stayed in one of the standard rooms for most of the week and it was a really nice modern and spacious room with a balcony. We did upgrade to the spa suite for the last couple of nights as a treat and the room was AMAZING! The room was massive with a large Jacuzzi, very nice and relaxing! The standard room was lovely but this upgrade just made our stay a bit more luxurious. The location of the hotel is pretty good, it's not far at all from the train station and the hotel provides free shuttles to and from Venice. The train journey is around 20mins so it doesn't take long at all. There isn't a lot in the area but there is a restaurant just around the corner and a little café just down the road. If, like us, you arrive at the hotel and fancy a stack rather than a full on meal, there isn't much in the area. We did find out that the pizza café down the road did sandwiches and snacks though so we should have gone there on our first night. There is also a supermarket very close to the hotel if you need anything, so that is handy! Everything in Venice seemed to be very expensive so I would recommend getting some snacks to save on money! We also filled up on breakfast at the hotel, they offered a nice selection of pastries, cereal and fruit. They also had a small amount of hot food (bacon and eggs for example). I would really recommend this hotel to anyone, we really enjoyed our stay.

Location:
Quarto D'altino is a small suburb of Venice which is largely industrial. However, The Park Hotel Junior takes several acres of greenery in this region and has transformed it into a veritable Garden of Eden. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, the pool is not enormous but still well appreciated in the sweltering summer months and the entire complex is enclosed in lush greenery thus keeping the outside world at arms length.

The Hotel:
The hotel itself is also quite a marvel. Each room is spacious and modern with a well equipped bathroom. Every room has a balcony overlooking different parts of the grounds (which wild peacocks roam freely). Wifi is also available in all regions of the hotel although it can be rather temperamental on cell phones we found as a password was required each time the phone "woke up".

Breakfast:
The breakfast was a standard Italian continental featuring pastries, meats, eggs, cereals, fruits, etc. It is held in the dining room adjoined to the hotel which either appears newly renovated or perhaps a recent extension on the original building. Its design is more modern than the rest of the hotel and patio doors open up so you may eat outdoors if you wish.

Transit:
The Quarto D'altino railway station is a 5 minute car drive away from the hotel or about a 30 minute walk and is the only legitimate way into the City of Venice (on a 20 minute train). The hotel however, offers a free shuttle on a set schedule that will take you to the station if you'd like. Warning! The trains are not air-conditioned and it you plan to use them in the height of summer, BRING WATER AND A FAN!!

Overall a fantastic place to stay in Venice if you'd rather stay in a spacious hotel complex than cramped in one of the small hotels on the floating city.

Park hotel junior is a great choice for a quiet place to stay. You can have all the peace that you are looking on a holiday. The staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfast buffet is rich and tasty, especially the home made croissants and pies.
We were in the spa suite one night and the jacuzzi was an excellent choice we made.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would love to come back also.
