“nice experience”
Reviewed October 3, 2012

Went to the zoo safari in fasano in october. have to say it's a nice experience especially driving by car through the wild animals. a bit of disappointment the walk around the park itself as not many animals are available to see. Only the car drive was enough for me. Price a bit high but worth the experience

“Do you really need to spend 2 hrs going around animals whilst pumping out emissions for then to ingest......”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

Sounds like a great idea.
I haven't been but it's easy to see from the road above that the welfare of the animals isn't formost in this type of establishment, though, I suppose that they have to make funds somehow.
Better if they limited the traffic passing through a little.

“Cool place for everyone!”
Reviewed August 29, 2012

This park is quite close to Alberobello and Locorotondo - about 20-30 minutes drive.
You can visit Zoo Safari by car, Animal park or both.

Zoo safari is very interesting. You will see wild animals (tigers, lions, bears, etc.) staying in your car and keeping the windows closed. Safari is absolutely safe.
You are alowed to take photos.

In Animal park you will see lots of animals and also can visit some shows - dolphines, see lions and pinguins show that are on schedule so it makes sence to double check with the website.

There is a large guarded parking area and a couple of restaurants next to the Zoo.
In the Zoo you can also have some food and drinks.

Also there is a chance to see the Zoo using a small funny train.

“A shocking establishment that calls itself a zoo”
Reviewed August 24, 2012

This place should be closed down. Or at least the part that has the animals should as the standards of care are quite unacceptable. My son who is studying Animal Conservation and Zoo Biology was appalled by the treatment of the animals and was moved to write to the regulatory authorities to report the Zoo Safari.
A couple of examples of what is wrong here: we saw members of the public throwing lit cigarettes into the chimpanzee enclosure which the chimps then pick up and smoke - this has been documented elsewhere on the web, the beautiful silverback gorilla eating an icecream that had been lobbed into his enclosure.
The enclosures are all too small, are badly designed, totally unnatural and the worst example was the polar bears, struggling to manage in the 35C heat without the ability to cool down effectively.
If you like zoos, I would not recommend going here.

“Safari Surprise”
Reviewed August 17, 2012

We were not intending to go in the Safari side for two reasons; monkeys on our hire car and our experience of safari's in the UK - animals bored brainless in the distance hidden under trees.

It opens at 9.30am in summer, and we arrived first thing for the coolest part of the day. It wasn't clear where to park if you only want to do the amusement park area, all cars were queuing so we joined them (as one does), at the kiosk we didn't have a choice not to do the safari so we held our breath and went in (83 Euros). In the first section there were herds of deer, a mixture of goats and very small ponies. Most of which were coming up to windows expecting food - nuts were for sale outside the park. It was all lovely; up close and personal. The car behind had food so we happily watched the goats go up on two legs to reach the window knocking their front hooves against the paintwork. We went into the lion enclosure and there were plenty, lying quite close to the cars and walking around generally. Same with the tiger enclosure, who were separate to the lions.

The giraffes were beautiful. The best bit was near the end of the drive thru' where zebras, hippos, wild horses, goats all shared an area. There were two zebras having a biting session on each other and they started running around chasing each other, next thing all the zebras and wild horses were having stampede's around the park area darting in and around the cars - it was very exciting.

Afterwards we paid a further 2 Euros to park and walked into the amusement side. The safari ticket said we were entitled to six free rides but quickly realised that this was only for the sections which involved looking at more animals and reptiles. We went on the Log Flume which the kids absolutely loved and was only an additional 2E each. Also saw the dolphin show for 10 Euros for adults and 8 Euros for kids between 1m and 1.4m in height, free under 1m. The children loved it but I am not comfortable seeing dolphins in captivity flipping, diving, jumping and squawking for our enjoyment.

Food was as you would imagine, abismal. Take a picnic if you can. You can leave the park and go back in as long as you keep your tickets with you. Cars in the car park are shaded by rows and rows of solar panels.
