The reviews for this hotel do not give an accurate description of this charming traditional 3 star hotel.
We stayed for 2 weeks in early Sept 2013 and spent week 1 in room 126; which did overlook an alley, but you could also see the sea. We overlooked two Italian families, who were high spirited at times, but that is the general nature of the Italians. The room was cool, which was a welcome change from the intense heat which averaged 30 degrees. The air conditioning is operated by reception and you can only regulate the temperature when it is on, which is roughly from 2pm until 2am the following morning.
Housekeeping arrived every day and we had at least 4 sheet/towel changes during our stay.
We were on a B & B basis and the variety on offer at breakfast would suit most tastes, which included: 2 choices of cereal, cold meats and cheeses, sweet and savoury bread rolls and the most delicious sweet deserts, which included a chocolate filled pancake roll (cannelloni) and a crème Brule – strange to have for breakfast but totally delicious. The waiters were also polite, busy but always helpful.

In week 2 we asked to be moved to a sea view, room 306 – we had a fantastic view. Shortly after moving we had a problem with the air conditioning and within 10 mins of logging the problem, the maintenance chap was in our room spanner in hand.

The location of the hotel is as near to the beach as you could get, you just had to cross the local road. The beach was pebbly and did drop severely, perhaps not a good choice for very young families.
The hotel staff was also polite and friendly, and enjoyed us trying to use a few words of Italian every day. We booked our taxi transfer through the hotel, who was also first rate and arrived 10 minutes early.
TOP TIPS – When departing for Catania airport do allow yourself at least an extra hour due to traffic, and their unique security queuing system.
We hired a car for 5 days and would recommend: Autonoleggio Italia in Taormina – 5 mins walk from the local bus stop. (italiarent@hotmail.it) DO NOT attempt to drive in Catania at any costs. Do visit Noto, Enna, Catania. Recommend eating at Ciao Ciao and Carpe Diem in LJ. LocaL buses excellent and very cheap.

Room Tip: Room 306 faces sea - fabulous view.

I have some old and wonderfull memmories for Taormina and I am simply in love in this beautiful village on the hill... Even if it is so beautiful that you can cry, it is not very comfortable to stay in one of the Taormina hotels... I was invited to visit friens on their summer vacation and they insisted to pay for my accomodation cost and I did not want to cost them a fortune so I made a reservation for a single room in San Pietro hotel in nearby Letojanni.
I would not say that this hotel has three stars anywhere else (see pics of my room bellow), but it was nothing really wrong with it... Room was small, outdated, with old furniture, some kind of "army bed", uncomfortable, but with big and nice bathroom.... Breakfast, OK...
Location is good, just between many Letojanni's restaurants and bars...
My review could probably be more negative, but maybe the fact that I am in love in Sicily and Taormina affected my opinion...
Just do not take a single room, I believe that double rooms with small balconies are much nicer.

The hotel is located right on the beach and that beach and sea water are of superb quality! We were there in August 2013 and the water was very clean, the sea calm, magnificently warm, and most importantly no jellyfish or anything else in sight. That's the best thing about going to this place rather then elsewhere. The hotel is three star so you can't expect perfection. It's really pleasant and comfortable even though for some reason initially the food was extremely salty (but that stopped). I think they do the best they can. Letojanni doesn't have that much to offer but it's right next to Taormina where you can go whenever you'd like and be swarmed by tourists. I'd go back to Sicily anytime (provided that there's no jellyfish).

Room Tip: Rooms on lower floors are much cooler that upper floors.

Stayed there 21st to 28th July. Decor could be updated. Old fridge in room very noisy as was the air conditioning. Child bed abit wonky. Staff very friendly. Great location. Lads working in bar & restaurant were the best. Great banter with them despite the language barrier. Would definately visit again.

I am really not certain why are there so many negative comments about this hotel. For a 3 star hotel it fulfilled much more than its purpose. The staff was very friendly helpful and pleasant with everyone (although I was personally a witness to many silly questions coming from tourists), the restaurant was great,a modest but tasty breakfast, and a variety of Sicilian specialties for dinner. The rooms were small, but completely clean and cleaned on daily basis. The location is fantastic, on the very beach, the hotel has their private beach, with a beach bar, although the public beaches were also great. The first time I read the reviews from the other members I was put off and nearly changed the hotel, but I am SO glad I didn't. In general the hotel deserves a much higher rating than it has right now on tripadvisor, and I hope that other satisfied customers will come back and rate the hotel as it deserves.Best regards to the people in the hotel, you were a great part of the great time I had in Sicilia.

We were here in early September 2012. The room was clean, equipped with older, but it fulfilled its purpose. We had a large terrace along his two room with side sea view. From these, the room what they had side sea view, was the best about us. On the other hand, it is seen on the highway, the mountains and there is a rail. It's not terrible but nothing. Transport there was no grapes. Moreover, the elevated highway and is relatively far away. The bathroom was the worst of the whole trip. Shower enclosures was thrown into it about additional and not very well installed. Silikonive tesneni was loosely glued around retail and maintained. Held her there mold. I was in the shower head mold. Half was good, always plenty of food. Everyone chose what he wanted. Appetizer everyone gathered himself, then it was the first meal, usually pasta or soup. As a kind of food was meat or fish. Followed by fruit or dessert. At breakfast it was always take enough. Everything you could imagine was there. What bothered me was the waiter tardiness. Always give priority manning certainly tables. Before the ours, it took too long. We probably within our Travel Agent Should not pay such service as Rusty, German or Italian travelers. On the positive is definitely location of the hotel right on the beach. Holiday was great, but the hotel only averages

We stayed here in July. The airconditioning was on timer and soon as it was knocked off the room would become unbearable. We didn't have a balcony and our only window looked into an alleyway so there was no view at all and no air coming in. The room was very small with a tiny noisy fridge. The bathroom was small and the shower was horrendous. The only thing was it was cleaned everyday. The room was located on the 4th floor and the lift rarely worked. The staff were very unhelpful and unfriendly. The cleaning staff were the only polite, friendly people working there.

Room Tip: Our room had no balcony and the window opened into an alley way so there was no view at all.
