“Really good for a 3 star hotel”
Reviewed August 28, 2014

I must say, that me and my friends really enjoyed our stay . My overall experience is 4 out of 5. The location is good, so many nice restaurants are around, the beach is not bad at all. But I do recommend you to explore other places though)
The only bad thing id like to say is that the front desk stuff leaves much to be desired!
I've personally worked for MARRIOTT hotel in Orlando, Florida for 1,5 years, so I do know what is the good service and what is the bad service.
When we arrived at the hotel it was 8:30 am, I decided to take a shot and asked a lady (don't know her name, cause she didn't have a name tag) if its possible to check in early (its a common practice if rooms are available), she didn't even check and replied right away, that we need to wait until 2 pm. Then I kindly asked if its possible at least to have breakfast ( our stay included breakfast), she also replied right away that we could have breakfast only tomorrow....That has totally disappointed me. I had a feeling that she really didn't like her job and replied on purpose like that. I guess she needs more training on how to be polite and learn to make an extra step towards her guests, because front desk is the FACE of the hotel. If your hotel doesn't belong to a world famous chain- ITS DOESNT MEAN that you need to treat your guests with such disrespect and rudeness.
Other then that everything was great. Rooms were clean-big thanks to housekeeping, breakfast was good also.
I really hope that front desk will learn how to act with guests properly! No matter what age they are, young or old, where they came from-all guests without any exception!

Room Tip: Room with a sea view....or at least with a view to the main strip. Because the backyard is just awfu...

We spent one night here as part of a tour of Sicily. Our room was No 405. The room was squeaky clean, big, had twin beds with a desk, wardrobe and a balcony overlooking the entrance courtyard. The hotel has a lift, free Wi-Fi in the lobby and is well situated right next to the beach.

Due to narrow streets our Tour bus was unable to get closer than about 100 yards and for those with mobility difficulties this could be a problem. There is a supermarket close by on the street behind the hotel which is open from 8.15 to 13.00 and 16.00 to 20.30 Mon to Sat. Closed Sundays.Taormina is worth seeing and is only a short bus ride away @ 3 euro return. Check times with reception as as they aren't all that frequent especially on Sunday

Choices were available for dinner with either soup or Pasta as a starter. Chicken, Beef or Fish as the main course and Sicilian pastries to round off the meal. We had beef and it was really tasty coming with mashed potato & peas. Drinks were offered prior to the meal and a refusal to provide tap water when we asked as an alternative to bottled water at £2 a bottle was very poor service.

Breakfast was buffet style with slices of Ham, Salami & cheese plus hard boiled eggs and a quiche type pastry. Fruit, cereal, rolls, juice and Tea & coffee completed the offering. No hot food was available.

We enjoyed our short stay and had no real issues with the hotel which met our requirements.

This hotel is right on the beach, it's greatest asset.

Only 4 floors high , we had a sea view room and woke to the sound of the waves hitting the beach, rooms were ok, strange colour scheme( lots of red tiling ) air conditioning not working, not sure whether it was broken or switched off as we were in laterOctober!

Food was ok, if not particularly imaginative

Location good, close to a small square with 3 or 4 bars and cafes, also quite a few bars on the beach still open even this late in the season

Stayed for 7 nights, half board. Clean, tidy well kept rooms, serviced every day, with aircon. Ideal for the beach, just over the narrow road (not at al busy). Breakfast, continental style, was fresh and completely adequate. Bus stops a short stroll (5 mins) as were plenty of places for lunch and dinner if you did not want to eat in the hotel. Evening meals were fine, staff friendly and attentive. The hotel is in an area of narrow streets, as to be expected in this old fishing village. Great transport links into town (1.90 return to Taormina) which drops you at the entrance to the town. You have to try many of the beach side eateries who all offer great food and service.
Being a volcanic island, there is very little sand. Flip-flops or swimming shoes make the beach easy (buy them from the shop next door who were friendly and happy to help out)

Room Tip: Go for seaward facing rooms on any level.

Pretty average place, standard rooms with a hint of style. Most of the stuff speaks English, some good, other just some. They accommodated all the requests we had and were all very nice and pleasant to talk to. Good food. Restaurant service was mostly slow but very friendly and helpful. Nice view from the balcony (ours was facing mountains).

Good location, clean. Otherwise, it lacked any character - our room was stark, the windowless restaurant dismal, sitting area near reception gloomy. Food was OK, nothing special, the service running from acceptable to terrible. Information at the desk was poor if you wanted to do anything other than go to the beach, on an organised tour or on the bus to Taormina (which was enough for the vast majority of the guests!)

Room Tip: Go to Peppe's two doors away, another three-star but with character and a restaurant on the beac...
