If you are looking for a large hotel where you can eat ,drink and stay around the pool this is the place for you. The hotel is huge and quite confusing to get around to begin with because it is on many different levels. The rooms are clean but a bit tired and the sheets on the bed had some rips in them. There is no sky tv,so if you don't want to sit and listen to piano music in the bar there is little else to do. Although you can walk to the beach fairly easily there is no reason to go because there's nothing there.Letojanni is mainly a residential seaside town,so if you are looking for night life i suggest you go elsewhere.

Room Tip: If you ask for a seaview be aware that a lot of the balconies are shared with 3 other rooms so be specific if you want a private one.

Dear Madame,
we thank you for taking the time to post a feedback.
We are a little bit surprised to read that you had the impression that apart eating or drinking there was nothing else to do in our hotel .We have infact a wellness center and thanks to it strategic position is possibile to make daily trips in the surroundings.
Letojanni is a quite town with a lot of restaurants and bars but for those who wish to enjoy the night life we always suggest to go to Taormina that is very close from Letojanni ( about 5 km).

We hope that you will visit us again in summer where we also offer a full - day animation program.

Best Regards

The room and hotel set-up is very good, quite a distance to walk from the Olimpo to the beach, from Reception level there is a funicular down to the adjoining Antarese, walk to the other end of this hotel then a lift down to 'ground' level, then about another 300 yards to the beach.
Breakfast is the best meal of the day, lunch and dinner is disappointing with mostly the same choices, only variation is on an island servery with sometimes a carved meat.
We were told that the Sicillians eat there food cool (nearly cold) and the hotel serves it the same, personally I think it is a 'cop-out' as everywhere else we eat it was piping hot ! we did not think that the food reflected the Italian style we expected.
Guests are mainly German and the flavour ot the evening entertainment reflects it, very difficult to find a quiet place for a peaceful drink and chat.

Room Tip: go for a sea view room, either east or south facing. extra cost well worth it.

Dear Guest ,
we thank you very much for your review.
We are surprised to read that you didn't find a wide range of food in our restaurant: we always offer a rich buffet with different types of vegetables, salads, 1soup, 3 type of first and second courses, dessert and fruit.
We will take anyway in consideration your remarks , they are always very important for us to improve the overall quality of our services.

We hope to welcome back also this year!

Best Regards

You know there is going to be a problem when your first night at a hotel in Sicily is Pizza and Pasta night and pizza is two inches thick!

Essentially this hotel is a stop off for Saga coach trips (and similar), each night we were there we counted at least 10 coaches in the car park.

Is this a 4* establishment? No, seriously it is not, the decor is tatty and needs refurbishment, the layout is quirky as it’s' set into the mountain side however, this did make finding your way around a little confusing. Its position whilst giving fabulous views of the sea meant that if it was windy as it was frequently whilst we were there you couldn't use the sun parasols as the pool is at the very top of the hotel.
The room was more or less ok, however aged, great views over the sea, however the hotel is just off the motorway and therefore there was a high level of road noise even though the room was a fair distance from the road making what would be a very calm and scenic location somewhat busy.

The entertainment team was possibly the most irritating that we have come across on a holiday. Given that most of the clientele were off on their day trips there were only about 6-8 couples by the pool side most days, however the entertainment team seemed to make it their sole mission to try and get people to take part in there dancing and aqua aerobics which lasted from about 10am through to 12pm. Even if there was no one wishing taking part (which as frequently the case) they would carry on with the music and routine regardless whilst this added a level of comedy to the day, i.e. because it was so bad it essentially very irritating and loud for the full two hours.

The worst thing about the hotel was the food; it was dull and reminiscent bad school dinners, really not what you expect in Sicily.

Just returned from 2 weeks at the olimpo with my wife. This is our 4th visit to this hotel in the last 10 years although this was the first time for 4 years and things have definitely changed in this time.

The Good - Hotel is still clean and well maintained. The air conditioning is good and generally the staff are friendly and pleasant. The views are amazing.

The Bad - Since our last visit the hotel appears to have placed a firm emphasis on attracting that particular sort of guest looking for an all inclusive deal. As a result mealtimes are absolute chaos with literally hundreds of guests fighting in the buffet queue, and loading their plates with far more food than they can possibly eat!. Also, I am not sure if its related but as the hotel seems to be attracting a much higher proportion of eatern european guests the food choices seem to have changed and be more restricted than of old. That said quality of food is quite good certainly for mass catering. All in all though mealtimes definitely feel like a refuelling stop rather than a dining experience.

The Ugly - The hotel offers two lovely swimming pools with the top pool particularly attractive. However, you will have no chance of enjoying them because of the dreaded amazione! Goodness knows why but the hotel management have decided that their guests need help to fill their days with "action packed fun "and so have employed a team of teenagers to spend the day playing particularly awful Euro pop music at full volume in the pool complex. This is supplemented by morning and afternoon aquarobics, group water polo and team members trying to drum up business for their "evening show in the on site theatre. Truly awful.....

That said, for those looking for an all inclusive deal, and entertainment for your kids you may find this hotel right up your street.

Have to say though for my wife and I , with regret, we are highly unlikely to return again which is a shame.

Just got home following a week's stay at the Olimpo with Tomson.
Access to the hotel was interesting via a lift and fenicula (mini train). We loved the individuality of this and found them no trouble at all.
We had a lovely room, very spacious and a beautiful view from the balcony, which stayed cool all the time. We were welcomed with a free bottle of Asti, water and fruit bowl, all unexpected.
What would have been helpful but wasn't in the room, were instructions on where the restaurant was together with opening times (it was on level 2) and pool (level 4)
The weather wasn't warm enough to swim outside so we went to the inside pool. It was free to hotel guests, again information about this was not in our room, but we did have to buy bathing caps to go in the pool, which were expensive at 3 euros each
Food was good. The breakfast was a mixture of cold ham & cheese with crossiants and a hot selection of eggs bacon etc. This is Italy so a full english was not expected. The evening meal was plentiful, pasta and salads plus meats and veg. Lots of variety and always good.
At the end of our week there was a Italian Sportsmen award party in the hotel, and they completely took over the dinner hall and bar area, with dinner tables being put in the bar area, which meant that anyone wanting to go to the hotel bar couldn't. They did however, open the bar on the ground floor by reception instead.
Entertainment was not really happening, a keyboard player in the bar most nights. But we went to relax and enjoy the food and wine, so it was exactly what we expected.
The local bus ran regually to Taormina fron right outside the car park. It cost 5.60 euros for 2 returns and was only 10 minutes away. Taorimina is an absolute must, we loved having coffee in the piazza and looking down side streets for restaurants for a spot of lunch.
Letojanni itself is a very sleepy village. We had lunch there twice, in the Tropicanna and the restaurant opposite which was better but i have forgotten its name (half a litre of house wine was only 4 euros!). There was also a lovely ice cream shop on the right corner as you walk from the hotel which we visited and had amazing ice cream.
Overall we enjoyed our trip to Hotel Olimpo.
