“Great Value - Just check a couple of things”
Reviewed July 3, 2014

For a 2-star hotel with such a central location, value for money plus friendly receptionists, you can't get much better for a simple short stay. We stayed in a superior room just for a night but we were not lucky. With our window overlooking (or overhearing) the main street, rue de Metz, it wasn't that calm. No problem: in these cases just switch on the air conditioning and blast out the noise. Alas, ours didn't work. I'm sure most people could cope with this normally but on a World Cup football Saturday night with bars below, the noise continued well into the night (read until 6am!!) No police. Not the hotel's fault but just ensure that the air cond works and you're not on the main street.

The shower room/WC is very small but that's ok. Not much soundproofing is more important personally, as is the lingering smell of cigarettes from the cleaning staff. All in all, though, I still give it 4 stars since for its hotel category, it's still an ideal place for a short stay.

Room Tip: Ensure you're not on the main road and if so, that the air conditioning works.

Stayed at red fox again and as usual very good. Staff very helpful, rooms spacious and clean. Free wi if and secure parking for a fee. Very central few minutes walk to beach and bars and restaurants two minutes away. Look forward to next trip

Room Tip: Pay extra and get superior room

Tidy place in the centre of Le Touquet, friendly staff in the hotel, as for the room bit of a tight squeeze in the bathroom, bedroom a good size and the beds where comfortable, will certainly stay there again for a golfing weekend, there is plenty of bars and places to eat in the town

Room Tip: ask for a room at the rear of the hotel as you get the late night drinkers shouting in the early mor...

Stayed for 3 nights during a charity rally.
Hotel is nice enough with good service and clean. Continental breakfast is as you would expect and breads are fresh.
Only couple of issues that really brought the rating down. The room was so small that two of us had issues moving at the same time ! the bathroom ( shower room ) is a bit of a farce with a cubicle so small you cant turn round in it. I am 6' tall and weigh 13 stone so not exactly massive and when I dropped the soap I had to get out of the cubicle to get it as you cant even bend over in the shower.
Only other issue was the cleaners collecting around the main front door for cigarette breaks. I smoke but still thought this was a bit offensive to customers. Minor irritant but it's about the impression of a place and this lets it down because it is a nice little hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room you can turn round in !

Have stayed here before and you cannot beat the location. It is only a few yards from the very heart of Le Touquet which is wonderful and that can also be a problem. The rooms as always are clean and functional nothing special but perfectly adequate but why they still don't have tea and coffee making facilities is beyond me. We booked direct which meant we had breakfast for free, nothing cooked but not a bad selection of breads, cheese, fruit, yogurts and lovely pastries. We were facing the road and there was a concert in the town on Sunday night which went on until 01:00 but the worst bit was the loud mouth English who insisted on singing football songs until 04:00 in the morning.... Why oh why do we give the morons passports? Aside from that a lovely stay

Stayed at the red fox with a group of us while having a few days golf in and around Le Touquet. Friendly staff, basic lobby, rooms are either small, very small or broom cupboard depending how lucky you are. Plug sockets were hit n miss as to whether they worked, decor looking tired. As it's right in the centre of town it is noisy outside.
Breakfast was ok, nothing special, eggs need 8 minutes!! Had most of what you needed before a days golf. This hotel tends to be full of golfers and Brits so if you're looking for a trendy, quiet, typical French, modern hotel, this ain't it.
