“Exceeded expectations”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

We dined here on first night of holiday.
Welcome was warm and friendly and decor most relaxing.
The food (for the prices) was exceptionally good. The pastry was faultless, fish cookery spot on, the Tete De Veaux the best ever and desserts (according to my wife) GORGEOUS!/Service was good but not over fussy.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will return.

“Excelent food, lively atmosphere”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

La Couple is a relatively small restaurant with relatively lively prices if you are a la carte, but then this is Le Touquet where prices are generally towards the top end of the market. The set menus at 28 and 42 euros are good value for what is excellent food and very good service. The ‘laminated’ snails (something lost in the translation on the menu there methinks) were excellent as was the perfectly cooked sea bass. When two colleagues objected to their beef being somewhat more cooked than they had asked for it was changed immediately and with apologies. There is reasonably priced wine if you look although their recommended Fleurie at 26 Euros was very good and the whole experience was very good indeed. A green vegetable here and there would not go amiss. Deserts are very good, cheese excellent, service attentive but unfussy. In the street outside there are lively bars which stay open late and very late (L’Impasse).

“Excellent food with friendly service”
Reviewed June 21, 2012

La Coupole has only been open for two years and after some reports of a shaky start, it is now established as a really excellent French style restaurant.
The decor is very tastefully modern, the service is good and the food excellent. Between us, our group chose the foie gras, the lobster, the oysters and the seafood platter to start and all were judged perfect. For the main courses, the fish, the steak and the seafood met the same standards. The sweets were a visual as well as a mouthwatering treat. Prices are relatively high but the quality is well worth it. I would strongly recommend this restaurant.

“Disappointing”
Reviewed June 4, 2012

Not impressed - expected amazing sea food platters but found they were under garnished and full of the "cheaper" shell fish even when taking the more expensive menu option - maybe we went out of season and turnover was slower but found it expensive and disappointing. Service rather grumpy too and lacking in atmosphere. Wouldn't go back.

“Lovely restaurant but maybe Masterchef could chat to them about overloading flavours”
Reviewed January 29, 2012

Very nice restaurant and the Macon Charnnay was totally delicious, the scallops perfectly cooked. The starter we chose was fois gras pate and itself was verysmooth but it was served with cinnomon sliced loaf with a lot of cinnamon and a very strong curry flavours fig chutney. he scallops were delicious as was the jus but the leek potatoes were very strong which over powered the scallops. The creme brullee was magnificently served on fire to create the brullee but the sugar was still very evident after the flames had died. We had a lovely evening though and the ambiance was perfect.
