As the name suggest, this restaurant is situated just behind the market place and so is easy to locate. The menu is similar to that of many other restaurants in the area with some nice dishes to choose from (knuckle of lamb, veal medallions for example). It is reasonably priced and the food was well cooked.
When we arrived just after 7.00pm, only one other table was occupied. Within half an hour or so, it was completely full. The service remained efficient throughout.
I will eat here again.

All we needed after a gastronomic couple of days was moules frites and a cold beer. We walked the main street which was impressive but this place ticked all the boxes. Helped that it catches the sun. Service good and it was excellent value for money.

Sometimes you're just not the right person at the right place… I'm sorry our experience was so bad when i read so many other were cool.

Been there with two kids. Terrace was almost full, nice people, nice sun. Last table left too close to the street - we choose to go inside. First mistake, second: not to trust our instinct (to get out): inside the folks were the usual Flunch-type, old, boring, curious about whatever is happening around their table.
We placed our order, 10 min later a first batch came: for the kids… and then nothing for the next 20 min. In the meantime, 10 people (who came well after us) got their meal… and our lovely kids are done with their own food - meaning: we'll have to either rush to eat or eat cold… I got nervous - not hungry anymore after the waitress, in panic, pretended they always serve children first… and denied they forgot our order.
On the positive side: despite my anger, the manager tried to handle the situation with discretion (which only annoyed the elderly crowd who finally had something new/nice/action to see… I know i'm bad) and offered a compensation.
Next time, better.

We were a party of 11 and were very well looked after here. They have several reasonably priced menus, reasonably priced wine and service is cheerful and efficient . The deep fried Camembert is a very generous starter and the cod a well cooked main course. Would recommend over some of the more tourist orientated places in Rue Metz .

This restaurant is slightly off the beaten tourist track, as it outside the main town centre although right next to the covered market. We eat here every time we visit Le Touquet. It serves really good traditional French food - we had an excellent magret de canard and a minute steak - and an outstanding (but reasonably priced) bottle of beaujolais. The place is partly restaurant, partly cafe - we have also had coffee, snacks and late-night drinks here - and this makes for a good atmosphere. Anyone staying in the Hotels Bristol, Pol or others nearly should certainly try the Restaurant du Marche - and those staying nearer the centre should also take the extra five minutes to make their way over to the Rue Jean Monnet.
