“Great displays”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

My favorite part of the Museum Conde was the rooms that held the portraints of each family that had occupied or owned the Chateau. All the collections were complete. It was also refreshing to see the actual furniture that was in the Chateau through these times, they were all roped off but you could get close to see them and take photos.

“Stunning Chateau near Paris”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

I don't think this Chateau gets the credit it deserves. It is easily passed up for a trip to Versailles- which is fabulous in it's own right- but Chantilly is a lovely day trip into the countryside from the Paris. The Chateau itself is just beautiful! and has a more traditional castle look to it from the outside. Lots of neat things to see inside, hunting trophies, art, decor and furniture- all of which is original. The gardens are only ok and the stable is spectaular! We sat through the demonstration and the show. Worth seeing if you have any interest in horses and Dressage. We took the train from Gare du Nord, it was about 30 minutes and cost 9,20 euro each way. We walked from the train station to the Chateau and back. LOVELY, pleasful walk through a nice little countryside town. We paid 18,00 for the Chantilly Passport which included entrance to the Chateau, the Living Horse museum and the horse show.

“nice chateau but disappointing garden”
Reviewed November 1, 2012

the chateau itself was beautiful but the garden was very disappointing. The English garden is not an English garden but before it was demolished it used to be an English garden. The Japanese garden was nice but it needs some really good gardening to make it nice again. The restaurant was very overpriced, coffe an appelpie is cheaper at San Marco Venice.

“A feast of history, art and architecture”
Reviewed November 1, 2012

The chateau is one of the finest in France and it houses some wonderful art and objets d'art. The gardens offer both formal French and more informal designs.
