“Fresh and friendly”
Reviewed December 12, 2012

At one end Frederikshavn's main and only pedestrian shopping street, Cafe Staehr offers the daytime crowd an option for superb coffee, fresh pastries, and light lunches. My special Christmas holiday plate carried a selection of cheeses, fruits, veggies, and breads, with a glass stuffed with curried pickled herring in the centre. I paired with a nice beer from the taps. Sandwiches are available to for take away. The two young women serving were delightful, upbeat, and attentive to all. They cared about what they were doing. During my visit, the proprietor came out from the kitchen to canvas his customers about the holiday plates he had been serving up! The Cafe appeared to be a family enterprise. Unfortunately, the Cafe is not open in the evenings.

“Beer connossieur´s”
Reviewed December 12, 2012

It is a café with sallads and sandwiches. about 30 different coffe´s fresh milled at your choice and brewed. Also a good tea-selection. Or just a glass of wine or a bear. They have 4 of the beers from Jacobsen House Brewery, located in Carlsberg old brewery in Valby, Copenhagen. The most famous Jacobsen Golden naked Christmas Ale, Jacobsen original Drk Lager, Jacobsen Saaz Blonde and Jacobsen Brown Ale. My favorite is the Christmas Ale. There are no laberls on the bottles of Jacobsen beer, instead a relief in the glass of the bottle. My wife had 2 glasses of an Italian read Wine, Valpolicella Classico. It was very tasty.
