Danhostel Frederikshavn City
Ranked #8 of 16 Hotels in Frederikshavn
Reviewed April 11, 2014

We were greeted by a very nice gentlemen that really loves his town. Could not be a better host. Thank you for your warm welcome. The dog helped...lovely girl! Room was simple, but clean, linen was extra, but that is usual in hostels. Fairly good breakfast. Beautiful paintings from a local artist. Well located near the ferry to Sweden.

Frederikshavn's Danhostel is tidy place to sleep on. Danhostel has all you need, but nothing "extra". You could easily hear to voices from the corridor. There is lots of parking places in the front of hostel. Worth of money.

We booked a ‘simply furnished room’ and that is what we got. Beds are good and we had a good night of sleep. Staff was friendly. Bathroom OK (and clean). Quality of the breakfast was good.

This was a good place for a stopover when you need to take the ferry the next day. The ferry terminal is only a few minutes from the Hostel.

Superb front desk staff, helpful and friendly

Very clean overall.

10-15 minute walk from Frederikshavn Station if you have a backpack, taxis are available. It is at the far end of the pedestrianed shopping area if you walk, plenty of restaurants around.

Towels and linen are a small cost extra.

There were a couple of PCs free to guests, remember not to hog it if people are waiting, 15 mins is a poiite time.

This is a working harbour but there are pretty beaches about two miles away. Staff will help you, also it is a few minutes from the tourist info centre.

Room Tip: Was in one of the apartments with its own cooker and fridge, this would be good for families.

We stayed in this hostel for five nights. Although the rooms are basic, they have all you need. It is very clean inside the hostel. There is a lovely kitchen and a lounge area with a tv. the breakfast is continental but it is plentiful and of good quality. The location is great, although there can be a bit of noise outside due to its central location. You need to hire towels and bed linen or bring your own. The hosts are so helpful, they even prepared us a wonderful picnic as we departed too early for breakfast. We will stay there again next eyar without hesitation.

Room Tip: Room 35 is in the attic and is spacious with a lovely view from the windows.
