Description: Thank you for your interest in Gusto. We are a trendy casual chique restaurant in de city center of Genk. Our chef focuses on high quality daily fresh ingredients. Our cuisine is Belgian-French with an original twist. Key are the ingredients. Our young, dynamic team is led by us (Brother&sister for over 7 years now) We hope to creates a very cosy, nononsense casual chique athmosphere for you. Locals wine and dine with us, aswell as Carbon hotel guests. A wonderfull mix. Very nice in our menu are our small tasting dishes. Refined dishes in smaller portions (Perfect with one of over 20 glasses of wine we serve per glass). So you can combine as many as you want (dishes ;) ), making your evening a culinary journey through the night. In our restaurant or on our heated terrace outside. Only up for a drink? No worries, our wine bar is open every day to serve you with the best drinks and snacks. Thanks again en hope we may host you soon! T&A Gusto

Made a reservation for 2 and asked for a quiet table so we could have a good conversation. At arrival they wanted to put me in one of the busiest parts of the room, so I had to change already this. Upon arrival of my guest they left us only with one set of the menu, after waiting a long time and as nobody showed up at the table, we had to stop a waiter so we could place an order.
Food was eatble but nothing more. For the prices they ask I know places around where you can eat much better.
No adress to advise other people.

I booked a table for 7 on a friday night to for a family gathering. When we came to order our meal we were told we could only have 3 different dishes between 7 of us. There was one vegetarian, one child. This was for starters, main course and deserts. This is what it says on the dutch menu (from their website): "Om u de best mogelijke service te kunnen verlenen vragen we u om vanaf 5 personen te kiezen uit max. 4 verschillende gerechten per tafel. Vanaf 6 personen max. 3 verschillende gerechten per tafel." 4 of us had English menu's which stated completely different rules. (The english menu is not on their website) This created a great deal of confusion and frustration. We offered to split the group in 2 so that they didn't have to serve us all at once but this offer was rejected. We had to stick to the rules. What was a fantastic atmosphere round the table soon turned into a real downer. Nobody wanted others to compromise but in the end that was unavoidable. So when the food came, the people who didn't get what they had wanted were disappointed and those who did have what they had wanted felt guilty for enjoying it. It properly ruined the evening. We have never expercienced this in any restaurant before. The restaurant was not full. A chef who can't cope with up to 7 different dishes should not be a chef. Serving more than 3 different deserts at once is really not that hard is it?

Then there was the vegetarian selection: there was only one vegetarian starter, no vergetarian main course. The only option was to serve the starter as a main course. It was cheese risotto with spinash, no garnish. It looked like a plate of sick and tasted awful. No imagination, just truly awful.

Overall the rest of the dishes ok, not brilliant, just ok.

I would recommend if you are looking for a good restaurant in the area to go next door to 360degrees restaurant. Good athmosphere, friendly service, groups welcome, vegetarians catered for, and in our opinion better food too.
