“Surprise setting.....”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

We regularly stay in Premier inns as we enjoy going to concerts, the races and just to get away.
We stayed here as we were going to Haydock races and the 80's music night . The setting was amazing... Carr mill dam was behind the hotel and attached restaurant . We sat out on the decking in the sunshine enjoying a drink or two. If we didn't have the races to go to we would have been more than happy to stay there all day.....
Premier inns are excellent value for money and the attached restaurant s are usually excellent too.

We stayed here one night, the receptionist was very helpful and the room was clean and comfortable - the standard you would expect from all Premier Inns. I would happily stop here again but would never have the breakfast again. The pub was smelly and dirty and we had to walk through a corridor of dirty glasses left, presumably from the night before, and workmen's tools. When we were eventually seen to our table, the granola was soft and stale like it had been left out for days, the apple juice was sour and cloudy, they were constantly running out of teabags, milk and cups (the waiter commented that they only had 32 cups - maybe we should have had a whip round to buy them some more?!), the 'hot' water was in flasks and was, at best, tepid. We waited over an hour for our 'hot' food and when it came most of it was almost cold.

We had a good one night stay here. The lady on Reception (Amanda I think...) and the lady who served our breakfast was both extremely pleasant, friendly and helpful.

Our room was spotlessly clean and everything you'd expect of Premier Inn.

We would stay here again.

Myself and my mother are regulars at this hotel and have found every member of staff to be wonderfully friendly and provid great service. Recently when the internet was down the lovely girl on reception rang spectrum and this issue was sorted almost immediately in comparison to every other premier inn we have stayed at this is above and beyond the standard you would expect for the price and I would recomend the hotel to anyone. The best nights sleep, best service, delicious food and an ideal location with easy access to Liverpool, Manchester and the little villages surrounding such as Rainford.
Fabulous stay every time

my wife , stepson and myself just spent 5 nights at the above premier inn and i can honestly say it was the best one i have stayed in. on arrival we were greeted by a very pleasant receptionist who couldnt have been more helpful, the same goes for the rest of the staff. the room was spotless and the food in the adjoining diner was very enjoyable. it is definately a hotel i will be recommending to any of my friends and family visiting that location .

Rooms Ok value for money but if you stay in this hotel make sure you have dinner and breakfast elsewhere.
Hotel breakfast is served in attached restaurant/pub but it was the worst I ever had. Service at dinner and breakfast also very poor.

We walked through Sankey Valley to arrive outside Carr Mill Dam & this well presented place to eat and chill out it was very very good, welcome was great, staff very good even though they was busy, food good many chose the buffet could see why for the price it was well worth it, we shall return.
